My 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Commissions! (And a Question)

Hey everyone,

How are you all doing?

First of all, I have some good news to follow up on my blog post about my first commission.

Diane, I promised I would tell you if I beat your 6-month mark for your second commission. Well, I did!

I made a second commission on the same chess website by around the 5 month mark. I had also made a tiny commission on the US Amazon before that.

And today, I found out that I recently made a decent commission on the AU Amazon after someone decided to buy 4 items on top of my recommended one!

Now that the sunshine and rainbows are out of the way, I thought I'd ask for your advice on something.

You see, the Amazon payments that can be sent by cheque are only those on the US store — all other stores require bank deposit.

The problem is that, naturally, they don't deal with banks from all around the world, so I would need to set up a virtual bank account to receive payments on.

The most sensible option is Payoneer, which I have used before WA. On Payoneer, you can set up receiving accounts in the US and UK with a few clicks.

The problem, however, is that Payoneer charges an annual fee of $30 if you don't meet a certain requirement. In my country, that requirement is to receive a total of $2000 in that year.

Making $2000 yearly on just Amazon is something I probably won't ever do. I'm not even sure I'm going to make more than $30 per year on Amazon (at least for some time).

This looks like yet another reason to scrap out Amazon from my affiliate programs, but I honestly think it would be a hasty decision. I'm making some commissions (from only 1 article) so it might be a sign of something good.

What do you suggest I do?

Are you familiar with any payment platforms other than Payoneer where you can set up bank accounts in the US or UK? Perhaps they won't have as stringent of a requirement.

I know I'm better off doing a Google search, but I thought since I'm reporting good news any way, I might as well see if anyone has any insights on this.

Thanks for reading.

Yusuf

Fantastic news Yusuf, progress is always good regardless of the speed. Keeping moving forward is a big positive so really well done. Have you looked at any of the online banks like Revolut or even PayPal? I wonder if you could have an online bank to consolidate your money from Amazon and then transfer it to your bank in a lump sum, not sure if this can even be done but might be worth checking it out.
Hope you find a solution
Pete

Thanks a lot for your kind words Pete. 😁

I appreciate the recommendation. Will look into it.

Great going on the continued commissions Yusuf and especially beating Diane on the six month mark!!

🤣🤣

I've never used Amazon as an affiliate so can't really help there....

I hope you find a satisfactory solution to your issue here my friend and enjoy the rest of your weekend! :-)

Thank you so much Nick 😁

You're most welcome my friend! :-)

Hello, not sure why you can't get payments to your bank account from Amazon, as I live in Belgium and I can :-)
Congratz on your first conversions!
Lizzy

Thank you Lizzy.

Amazon stores other than the US only allow direct deposit payments, and the bank location has to be in one of the following countries:

- US
- UK
- Australia
- France
- Germany
- Italy
- Spain

How did you set your payment method to a bank in Belgium? I can't seem to find Belgium among the options. Please see the screenshot.

I live in the United Arab Emirates, so that's why I have to use Payoneer (or perhaps a similar alternative if I find one).

(Edit: You probably mean you have your bank account set as the payment method for the Belgium store. In that case it would make sense, but I'm talking about international stores.)

It's strange, I could use the direct deposit payment method to a Belgian bank account. Maybe this is different for each continent?
I didn't join the Belgian Amazon store, my audience isn't here, but US, UK and Canada. You need to choose the stores where your traffic is the biggest.
Payoneer is quite expensive indeed.
Lizzy

You're definitely right about choosing the regions that get you the most traffic.

Thanks for clarifying your situation. Perhaps I'll contact Amazon and see if there's anything that can be done.

Awesome, Yusuf!

Jeff

Thanks Jeff.

You're very welcome, Yusuf!
