The Value of A Change in Mindset

The training and community here have already helped me to either overcome or begin to overcome several issues or misconceptions I had when it comes to Affiliate Marketing and Online business in general. One of those issues is needing instant (or near instant) gratification.

In my past attempts at Affiliate Marketing, I was in a hurry to see success, financially or otherwise. Part of that came from listening to others that promised I would see massive results in no time. I firmly believe, now, that most of those people hadn't even seen their own success. They were just good at making others believe they had. OK. I'm about to get off track.

Anyway, I wanted quick success. If a blog post didn't make it to the first page of "The Big G" within a day or two I would get discouraged, even irritated or angry, thinking the whole idea of making money online was just a pipe dream pushed by the "gurus" to scam us out of our money.

Even though I knew that a legitimate business takes time, I didn't think of Affiliate Marketing as a business or business model. Just a way to make some quick bucks.

And that's the difference, that's what's changed. I now have a new, and the right, mindset. Kyle and Wealthy Affiliate as a whole stresses that this can be a legitimate business...if we treat it that way. Slow and steady. Step by step. "Brick by brick". I'm so glad I see that now!

I've learned not to worry and stress over how long it takes. They say "Rome wasn't built in a day." Neither was Wal*Mart, or General Motors, or IBM, or the hardware store down the street. My new attitude is I won't give up, even though I know there will be obstacles and challenges along the way, no matter how long it takes! In the long run, it will be worth it all.

I simply believe that I WILL get there and find success, now that I understand that instant gratification is fleeting, at best.

I don't want fleeting. I want sustainable!!
