How to Leverage Other People's Content for Success

T.E.A.M. Together Everyone Achieves More. This is as true in blogging as it is in Sports or offline Business. Imagine for a minute you had a small business and each of your employees, you and your spouse all had different ideas on how to run it and each went their own way? Would you be in business Long or would it fail? My bet is failure 100% of the time.

Big blogs use collaboration to scale up from being small blogs.

And example of large blogs are Mashable, Huffington Post, Shoemoney, ProBlogger, MarketingLand, and even Yahoo News. All but the last one started as small single or dual author blogs and worked up to taking guest post. They then took paid placements, and reader contributions, bought content from ghost writers.

They did whatever it took to get to where they are which is hundreds of thousands and even millions of post in content with millions of monthly visitors and hundreds of thousands of readers.

I myself collaborated with another gentleman, an Aussie thousands of miles away named Dave.

We assembled a team of 5 other people and began filling our own search engine and social media site hybrid with powerful content while also collaborating on the blogs and social network profiles that drove our membership. At the high we had over 5,000 contributors, 10,000+ pages, 3 million monthly page views, 6 million monthly ad views, 600,000 monthly readers.

All of this because 2 minds sat down and figured out how to leverage other people's content.

That was the dream of social media pioneers as well. People like Zuckerberg found ways to get millions of people to write content free of charge. New sites like Webtalk are starting to let members monetize their content to push even more engagement and better quality post. A social network is the blog became a forum, became social. It's an evolution of the same concepts, create content and let others interact with it.

Here at Wealthy Affiliate we see blogs built by millions of members and a few of them post to each other for reputation and link building and we just about all use site comments where we can do the same with quality comments on related web pages. What I don't see a ton of is regular contributor based blogging or shared income collaborations.

If, you have something like this going on let us know in the comments.

Great to read thanks for the advice,

tom

Do you have something like this going on now, Andy? Am interested if you have more info to share.

Thanks a lot.

I am working on something down the road for a coop site AKA Multi-Author Blog, but have a couple other projects ahead of it. I will update here when it's ready.

Thanks for sharing this great idea

Good idea, it is easier if you have a team of like-minded people to work with, Best Alan

Great blog, thanks for sharing,

Often working together produces great results. Good idea!

This is an excellent idea and I think Kyle and Carson should probably be informed about this so they can find a way to incorporate it here into the wealthyaffilate platform.

I almost made this a full training today but my power supply on my PC acts like it is going out so I don't know how soon before it powers down again. I hope to have one up soon and would love to help design a tool like the comments tool to exchange 1000 word plus post from blog to blog. Publish 2 post to your blog get a post on another etc.. Could be a massive success.

It's a really brilliant idea and I am looking forward to this becoming a part of this platform in the future.

Excellent idea for those here that are in similar and complimentary niches to collaborate in order to receive more viewers and traffic. Thank you for sharing this!

Thank you for reading. With WA that's an impossible feat not finding at least one person to work with on a team blog. Good luck and happy hunting.

Those seeking contributors or guest posters in the home business niche PM me.
