How good is your side hustle? Making money for your business.
I am feeling absolutely great today because today for the first time in 8 years I cracked and shattered the 10 cents a word barrier as a guest poster. In fact I had the best sales day in 6 years amking over $160 between content sales and commisions plus a very nice tip for over delivering on client service.
How did I do it? Passively. I put my content out there and others approach me occasionally to write for them either using my name and personal brand to build their budding business or using my content to build their name and fill in extra post as a ghostwriter.
I will however soon be pushing my new Local SEO business and adding content creation services to it. I have a single page that shares rates for Website Design and Local Search Engine Optimization. Both I learned here through Jay's weekly Webinars and Kyle's teachings.
I have seen people use every tool for doing this from a page on their site to fiverr (not recommended due to low pay and poor policing of providers) to programs that are more designed to weed out the week from the pros in freelancing.
Below are some side hustle ideas you can add to your blog on a Hire Me page.
As your writing matures add content creation. Basic content should bring aroun 5 cents a word. Once you learn more on SEO or search engine optimization you can offer SEO content for 8-10 cents a word.
Social Graphics. Get good at Canva and use their tools to build a small graphic design house. You can make meme, blog post covers, Instagram and pinterest formated post promotions and more from their easy templates and huge stockimages library.
Social Media Marketing. Let's face it, to promote your blog you need to be a master of at least one type of social media. Once you are growing good it makes sense to get paid helping others do the same. I have over 13K followers on Twitter and my last paid Tweet i did was a $10 pay for just 140 characters of text.
How about SEO? Search Engine Optimization is tough to learn but Jay makes it easy to digest in bits and pieces. There is also a lot of other member created training on site and Youtube and Search Engine Land can have up to the minute trends placed in your hands. The best part is a basic website design with SEO can run $150 a page and earn $1500 or more per client. SEO is alsoongoing so maintaining a site can net you $40 a month per client and handling 30 cients a month can mean a good deal of money to a small business like yours.
All of this has training at Wealthy Affiliate. Your side hustle can do as it has for me and pay your annual membership each year wile putting cash in your pocket. Last year I added $700 in conten writing alone, and this year I am up to $550 in content sales. I will soon have SEO income and hopefully many more writing clients through my Local SEO. There is absolutely no reason you can't as well.

Yep, take my SEO business potential. Before having to hire anyone I can easily handle 30 monthly clients at $400 a month for $12,000 monthly or $144,000 annually. Add in 30 website designs averaging 10 pages and I make another $45,000 for $199,000 a year before scaling up or franchising my brand name for use in other cities and states.
Great advice Andy, I know I have helped a not for profit radio station define their "what's on guide" offer using jaaxy @WA and it transformed how they now work. It actually took less than hour to create a list of key words their audience was searching for then come up with an offer that provided that for them. They just got a sponsorship deal off the back of it.
I like this side hustle although your post has inspired me to learn more as I know a fraction of what is possible.
What's funny is so many are laser focused on affiliate income they leave all sorts of money on the table that can help them now. Learn a skill put it to use,make your money.

I built a website for a friend and got paid for it. I couldn't have done that before joining WA. I have writing skills that I didn't know I had. Could come in handy if need be. If I spent the time to learn more about SEO I could make a living as a consulting specialist.
How many more skills are there here to learn about that could make money for a member long before their blogs produce a livable income.
Exactly. Things like sales copy and writing product descriptions for eCommerce sites pay fast cash and sales copy can pay more than SEO. There are copywriters out there getting $10,000 or more for a single page sales letter of long play VSL (Video Sales Letter) script. Kyle teaches us how to leverage Youtube for traffic, how about doing videos part-time for other blogs and commercial websites? Try $800+ for a 30-second video. We learn so much here and as I illestrated just one side hustl has paid my annual membership 2 years in a row and put almost $600 in my pocket on top of it.
Good to know about the copywriting. I have done a good deal of copywriting in the past. All for myself and none for anybody else though.
