Record Wabinars with Your iPhone Voice Memo App

One of my favorite resources at WA are the weekly Wabinars given by Jay. Every week there is a new topic that is discussed and demonstrated. They are invaluable to the internet marketer. To get the most out of them I like to listen to them several times to capture all of the little gems that are taught.

By recording the Wabinars on my iPhone with the voice memo app I can listen to the Wabinars while taking a walk, doing household chores or driving back and forth to work each day. Currently there are over 80 hour long Wabinars in the WA Library.

I usually record while I am watching a Wabinar so it is easy to listen again later in the week. That way I seem to absorb more of the information. If you have an iPhone or another smart phone with a voice record I recommend you try this to get the most out of the WAbinars.

Here is how to record the Wabinars on your iPhone so that you can listen to them over and over.
On your iPhone there is a voice memo app that will allow you to record sound.

  • Place your iPhone close to your computers speaker.
  • Tap on the Voice Memo app and a large microphone appears on the screen.

  • At the bottom of the screen is a red button on the left hand side.
  • Tap the button and the recording starts.
  • Tap the button again to pause.
  • Tap the icon in the right hand corner that has three lines when you want to stop your recording.
  • This will take you to a list of your recordings organized by date.
  • Tap on the play button to listen to the recording.
  • Tap the play button to pause.

Warning: Drive and listen responsibly. The iPhone recordings are loud enough to hear without wearing earbuds in the car. Start and stop the recordings when you are stopped or in a safe location.

But I have and android....:(

If you have an android then you shouldn't be having trouble watching the Wabinars, I think.

I've been using RealPlayer. Once the WAbinar is up, I play it in my browser and RealPlayer asks if I want to downlad. Once downloaded I move to itunes and it's on my iPad and iPhone

I will have to try that. Thanks for sharing.

Hey thank you garethb! I've been looking for a solution for this for AGES! It works. wow thank you soooooo much!

Snap! I tried to catch Jay in the chatroom yesterday to ask if there were plans to switch to the mobile compatible h.264 video format any time soon. Unfortunately, chat was manic and there were huge demands for his attention.

I currently convert the WAbinars myself, even though it's a chore, as I prefer having access to them on my iPad when I'm out-and-about. I also save them as podcasts so I also have just an audio version when I'm not in a position to watch them.

I'm guessing that changing the video format to h.264 is on the list of future updates for WAU, especially since Adobe have announced that Flash is dead, if not actually buried. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it'll be sooner rather than later, so I can retire the ancient PPC Power Mac that's clunking away in the corner slowly munching it's way through my WAbinar video queue!

I enjoy being able to listen to them on the go. Hope they do change to format.

Hey Rich! I spoke to Jay on the chat and he said that the WAbinars will be coming out in a new format REAL SOON!

Thanks for the update, Hani. I collared Kyle in chat as he's also an iPad user and he said that WAbinars are due for a refresh, including the ability to comment, like, share, etc. So great news, all round! Rich.

Hey Yessharon! Now that's a GREAT idea! Thanks!

Thanks, It works and saves time.
