Stickin' as a Standard
Well, with ten and a half hours to go on my starter discount thing, I tried to make the upgrade... Anywho, as it turns out, I have to have a debit/credit card?! Seems my regular ol' paypal account just won't do..... Welp, I guess I'm kissin' this deal goodbye.

There will always be a way!!! Just do like what Rich said, Pre-paid card maybe even.
And why wont your PayPal account work? Others have used it to upgrade.
Your PayPal account should work fine, however it needs sufficient credit in it or linked to your bank account so that PayPal can transfer the funds. I know several Members who've signed up using Visa Gift Cards, as another option, or pre-loaded Cash Cards, such as Cashplus http://www.mycashplus.co.uk/ here in the UK. Rich.
