Tips for Improving Community Spirit in Wealthy Affiliate

We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community... Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own. Cesar Chavez https://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/

Helping others is seen as being a vital part of a community, regardless of the community. We have certainly seen recent examples of this through the actions of others after three hurricanes. We saw local, national, and international communities. Helping others is what we do. All of us need some type of recognition. Helping is motivating, encouraging, and compassionate. While most of us believe in it, we don’t all practice it.

Every successful individual knows that his or her achievement depends on a community of persons working together. Paul Ryan https://www.brainyquote.com/

Here are some ways we can improve on providing help to our Wealthy Affiliate community.

When someone reviews your site or your page, please respond with a reply on their website and an email in the community. This broadcasts to the world and to our community that you really are grateful for help.

Rather than rush through offering site reviews, why not go through the recent requests on the Site Comment and Site Feedback platforms and select several to respond to. You will be ahead for when you want to request comments and feedback.

Do the same thing on the request for comments and feedback sites initiated by Kyle in his training. Just randomly go through requests and select several. This represents a true effort to participate in the community, rather than just taking the thinking “I’ll scratch your back, if you scratch mine.”

When asking for reviews and comments, do so respectfully, rather than in a demanding manner.

Also, go through the lists and select a site for review that no one else has responded to. That person had to be feeling left out at some point and was happy to be noticed.

Always say thank you to the person who took the time to review your site or page, letting them know that you appreciate that. They could have been working on their site during that time, and your site was their choice.

Very often I see unanswered questions. Sometimes they wind up in the wrong place and sometimes people just don’t care enough to attempt an answer. Recently, I asked one from Site Feedback, thinking it was going to the site’s owner. It landed in a classroom because I was required to indicate a classroom before sending the email. Someone answered it! Not only did he tell me I was not the only one with the problem, he also added that he understood my frustration. Now, that meant a lot.

As pointed out by Robert, please read the question carefully and make sure you understand it before proceeding with an answer. Some people are guilty of changing the question to a version they can respond to, and the actual question goes unanswered. Also, if the question is unclear, ask the individual to clarify it by repeating what you believe you understood him or her to say.

Don’t just click “like” at the end of someone’s WA blog. Take the time to acknowledge its importance to you by responding by email.

We are constituted so that simple acts of kindness, such as giving to charity or expressing gratitude, have a positive effect on our long-term moods. The key to the happy life, it seems, is the good life: a life with sustained relationships, challenging work, and connections to community. Paul Bloom https://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/

This is a very well thought out approach and sound advice for everyone in all communities not just WA.. i like the use of thought provoking brainy quotes..Giving out is always good use of our time because it usually comes back in more ways than we ever imagined. You are quite the philosopher, wise and deep.

Thanks, Judy. I appreciate your taking the time to read my post and your comments.

Sorry, I was one of those that just clicked 'like' and ran away. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with trying to get my tasks done and maintain communication and friendly feedback while just keeping my physical world working too. I'm in a whole new place here and loving it, but also learning to manage and organize my time better.
Your words are right on and beautiful, thanks!

Thanks, Sherry. You are right about it being difficult because we have so many things to do. I forget also.

I tried to help as much as I can. Especially the ones that joined after I did. I can't answered anything beyond that because I'm still learning myself.

And I thanked everyone that gave me a comment or feedback. And I thank you for sharing this to remind us that WA is a community of help and encouragement. Everyone here wants everyone to succeed.

You are certainly welcome, and believe me, you have the right attitude. I love that you said, "Everyone here wants everyone to succeed." That is the way it should be.

Yes, and it's true. Every time I vent on something someone knew exactly what I wanted and lead me to the right path. I think that everyone has been in the same boat before. No one gets to where they are without any help.

We are a collective community here. What affects one affects all!

Absolutely! We want it to be an infectious, caring community, with no one left behind. If we are as eager to help others as we are to help ourselves, we are all winners.

Genuinely wanting to help, support and motivate others is a crucial part of Wealthy Affiliate. I totally agree with you. I always try to thank everyone who is offering me feedback or comments. I also go through the "Unanswered" section and try to help out many new members here.

Thanks so much for your support of WA members, your agreement and for taking the actions you take. Helping is very important. I appreciate your taking the time to read my WA blog. I get concerned that I might be overlooking someone's comment, so I hope that when I do, they will let me know about it.
