Setbacks with affiliate links
So i posted the other week about waiting for replies to some of the affiliate companies id signed up to. Well im still here waiting, and getting really frustrated now has i feel this is a major setback.
After a good start, set my site up, working through the courses and believed i was doing well, currently i feel a little deflated and want to get back the full enthusiasm i had when i started.
Ive by no means threw the towel in, but i wanted to think by now i would have heard something back from these companies. Anyway I hope everyone else is having lots of success, best wishes!

Ive just tried adding link from amazon on the burn belly fat with chilli tablets page, however the page is not opening when i click it on my website. Ive inserted it by clicking the add link button but its still not working, any help would be appreciated, kind regards Wayne.
When you visit the page for the product you want in Amazon, There will be a gray bar at the top of the page.
On the left it will say, link to this page and, the other will say short link.
Is it under the 'link any page', then go to 'Associates Site Stripe' option?
I was just copying and pasting the url under the amazon site, for me to add to my site like that. Thanks for the help.
When I visit the Amazon site, there is a gray bar at the top of all pages, like a toolbar, that says Amazon Associates at the far right and on the left it says, link to this page, short link to this page etc. so yes, I believe that is called the associates site stripe.
On the top of my amazon page it says 'links and banners', then when i scroll over that there's a list like 'product links', 'banner links', 'link to any page', 'quick link', and 'line checker'. So i clicked link to any page, then thats when it takes me to the amazon associates. Thanks for help again.
See the top of the page, the gray bar, I get that on every amazon page without having to log into the back office
Oh ive got that on my amazon site, i was meaning the amazon affilate site page, right so i do it through that site, ive been getting mixed up! Thanks i will take a look now lol, cheers.
Just tried that, copied and pasted the link for the product, and put it on my website, but it still doesnt open up with the link? ahh bugger.
Oh yeah, i only use anchor text or link images, I don't do any of those amazon widget thingies, I hear they don't convert very well anyway.
You have seen my site before
Yeah i have seen your site and it looks very well. meanwhile i still cant seem to get the links to work on my site. Im copying and pasting like it says, through the links, cant understand why its not going.
easier with the short link but, if you insist lol Amazon Links| Adding and Editing Your Amazon Links
Cheers will look, i cant work out why its not working here, one day i will get sorted lol!

If you can take a look at the page, ive added 3 links on my page that do now infact direct people to my amazon link, however i dont quite get how to do it on my images, but ive somehow managed to sort of crack it !, thanks once again!
Looks like you have the text link sorted,
For images, click the image in your editor and click, edit (looks like a pencil) Be sure to add a title and alt text.
Then link to, custom url, and put your link in there.
If you do not want to link the image to amazon then put link to, none.
This is also easy to do in your media library before adding the image to your content and is what I usually do
Cheers, yeah thought id managed to crack that part, not going to put lots of links in has i know it was said to not go overboard otherwise google dont like it. Will try the image link and then try and do some other pages and affiliate companies.
Hopefully things will come on a bit more now, thanks for your help again, and i will look at your site again for ideas!
You're welcome Wayne, any time. I still remember your first day here coming into chat and, I am looking forward to watching your progress
Yes, as others have said, you don't always get an email of acceptance. If you have applied through an affiliate network, just keep checking back and look at the status.
One program took three weeks for the approval
Hi, yeah it seems thats something i didnt understand lol, anyway, hopefully all well be ok now, hope you are going ok with your site.
Just been trying to get the link to work when you click on the chilli burn photo, but it seems to just open up in another window without the amazon link.
Ive managed to get a link in now, if you can take a look id like an opinion on the layout and number of links, many thanks.

Hi again Wayne, yeah, on images you want it to link to none so it doesnt open in a new window unless you are linking out with your affiliate link in there
All of your images are still linking out to open in a new window, I would get rid of that amazon widget and make the chili burn image an affiliate link and link the other images to none Amazon Links| Adding and Editing Your Amazon Links
Ok thanks, so ditch the one ive added and just add the link to the one that was there originally. Ive tried following the video but couldnt seem to get the link to work, will try again.
But otherwise you think it looks ok, but you dont like it opens in a new window? cheers.
Other than that, i think it looks great. There is usually no reason to have images open in a new window
right i can change that, i just usually find it annoying when i personally go on a site, and continually have to click the back button, but thats just me lol. So i just untick the box where it says open in new window,
You want the affiliate link to open in a new window, you do not want images that link to nothing open in a new window
Hi Steve, I've been accepted for at least one that I didn't know about. What's affiliate malls is that a bit different, kind regards and good luck.
Top of the morning to you, Wayne,
Hang in there . . . just concentrate on developing your site and content. (^_^ )
I had to email a couple of mine 2 or 3 times before I got a response.
Remember to put your shoulder to the wheel, your nose to the grindstone, keep your ear to the ground . . .
and if you can work in that position, thou art a better man than I, Gunga Din ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Lol, your classic saying. Yeah i just felt that i wasnt progressing has much has i had been, however now i know ive been accepted for the amazon affiliate at least its a start, i can get working on it all more!
Thanks for the help and good luck to you!
Don't get frustrated Wayne. If you site is too new some affiliates won't accept you. Also some do not respond to let you know that you've been approved.
For instance I have an affiliate agreement with Guitar Center. In order to get it I had to go through CJ (formerly Commission Junction). I filled every thing out and I waited and waited and waited.
I was very discouraged after weeks so I went back on CJ to look for another affiliate to sign up with and low and behold ... I was approved and had an active Guitar Center program. The same happened with Zzounds through CJ. No email no response but one day it was just active when I checked CJ.
I'm not saying this is what is happening with your situation but it may be possible.
ROCK ON!

My pleasure Wayne, you're welcome.

Keep at it bro! If you have to hassle the affiliate sites to get the answers you need, keep at it...If you have to move on to a different network, then do that too, but be encouraged my friend....sometimes there are weird hiccups and random stuff that happens online...it's all part of the business.
Hi there, thanks for your input, its much appreciated. I am trying to get back into the groove since i was waiting and got hold up. Ive added you on my list of followers, and i wish you every success too, good luck!
