Thanks, Tommy. I'm doing everything correctly, just getting that "We can't connect to your site..." message when I click the big blue "Activate your Akismet account" button.
You have created a wordpress account and an Akismet account entered all your info and still getting this message. I would then put in a support ticket and see if they can help you.

Hello Walt. Were you able to solve this issue? I have the same one. I am using a surface tablet. I went to the Firewall Settings, created a new rule for port 80 to allow connections and restarted my pc, but nothing yet. Any advice?
