I've gotten this type of question more than once: If TOBI pins work well to get our website traffic from Pinterest, why should we bother with making just image pins? It's a great question but one thats important to unpack to fully contextualize and that's what I'll be doing in this video.

Hi Vitaliy. Thanks For Your Post and Vídeo😊😊

I need to create more image pins. Do you link them to your website ?

2

Hey Anne-Caroline,

We always link all our pins to some form of place where the visitor can take action. A blog article, a landing page, and so on. Pins don't have much of a purpose if you don't redirect the viewer to another place where you can capture email list leads by providing a freebie, taking them to a blog post where they could read and potentially click through to an affiliate link or at least some win-win situation.

I see though many viral pins that have no links…

Unless they have a really good message, I don't see the point in that effort. Every effort we make online, must have a certain goal. I am talking about my own real estate, and it has worked well for us.

Yes I link image pins to my website. You can experiment with NOT linking them anywhere, other than to a board. Those tend to get the highest impressions and clicks, which can help your board and other pins perform better.
