Thanks for sharing this information. I don’t have a YouTube channel but I do use lots of tags on my Twitter account and that gets me many likes, retweets and followers.
I liked the video. What I don't understand is what is the point of hashtags? Are they used as a search thing? I've been including them in my Facebook posts lately, but only because ChatGPT has been adding them. I don't expect you to give me a whole study on what hashtags are good for, I just wanted to see if you really think they help.

Hi Karin yes it's a search thing. It's basically a category ID in YouTube and by using them in your video, your video will also show there. The goal is to show your video in relevant/popular hashtag categories to get more views potentially.

Jay suggested using three to five hashtags in YouTube shorts was enough. So, is more better if they are relevant to the Short?
I'd say with the case of shorts, I'd say a combination of broad/relevant is what I'd aim for.
