I've been checking statistics on my content page about all time written words:
31,600 Your all-time words written
And more than 96% of WA Members this month
Ok, a reasonable amount of just under three months of posting. In fact, I have 25 indexed articles and I have been here since august the 10th (I think), so I have been here for 82 days.
That comes down to 2 articles per week, which is pretty much the minimum one should be posting, but it's still more than 96% of the members.
Most of us are not focusing enough on creating content for our blogs!
There are a lot of things that can take your attention away and make you feel like they are necessary to do, like social media, research, blogging on WA etc.
But never forget that you are here to create content - it's that content that's gonna be the core money making tool, everything else is just there to help.

I am sure it is more than many BUT that only covers members using the Site Editor tool.
I never use that and because of that my word count shown there never changes from the 2,111 words shown back when I first tested it.
In reality I have about 50,000 words now.
Anyway, I wouldn't put much into this stat because is not a real metric other than showing that most people are probably NOT using that editor.
That is a good point, never really considered this. What are you using? Just typing in Word?
I like to use it because it has a handy spell-check included which helps a lot (I'm sure there are other spell-checkers available, just haven't really researched on this, as I'm satisfied with WA's).
It depends. Most of the time I just write them in the Wordpress editor. Other times I write them in Notepad++ or another simple text editor then copy paste and format them in WP editor later.
