Hi

You may try LifterLMS

https://lifterlms.com/
https://wordpress.org/plugins/lifterlms/

Or upload to YouTube or Vimeo and embed share in your blog.

In addition to top, you may try Easy Digital Downloads

https://easydigitaldownloads.com/

Hope this helps.

Hey Vasilij,

Sounds like your friend will need a membership site, and hosting the videos on a platform like YouTube, Vimeo, or Wistia where members of those sites can have their videos easily hosted and made unlisted so only her membership site will have the videos accessible.

It's always advisable to host videos on a video hosting platform for ease of loading a website on the many different devices.

With researching this topic, your friend may find the perfect solution for hosting their videos to their paying members.

Hope you find this helpful.

But doesn't hosting videos on a third-party platform lose your legal ownership over them?

For the answer to that you would need to refer to a lawyer with internet experience to know for certain.

Though, personally I've never heard of losing my rights to my own videos before, and mine are mostly made public.

Searching Google, you may discover your ownership rights in Google's support guide. See screen print below...

Hi Vasilij ... you say "pay to view" ... is that one at a time or is she wanting to build a membership site? A membership site could bring in a regular income.
:-)
Richard

I think the details are still work in progress, could be either.

Here are the best Wordpress video plugins

Video Conferencing with Zoom.
WebinarPress.
WebinarIgnition.
EasyWebinar.
WP GoToWebinar.

As for pay per view you can chekc out EffectIO Pay Per View 1.4.6

Looks like everything is a WP plugin which means WA hosting will work.

Thanks, looks like some of these do exactly what she needs. Now it's just a matter of trying them out to see the exact features.

What about storage space for videos? Does WA hosting provide enough space for them?

Hi, this is one of the many options that I am looking at for one of my sites, will let you know if I find out asuitable solution.

Could it be an HTML code? I say this as I am ready to load so ts onto a site and I already have the code for that programme.

I have ordered an item from Amazon, while a cookie from my link was still active (I was checking some of my links earlier).
Can I get in trouble for this? What should I do?<

Hey Vasilij,

This is exactly why it is so important for us to fully understand any affiliate program rules that we sign up for and agree on. See screen print below...

Here's a link to Amazon Associates policies: https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/help/operating/policies

To break their rule, you would have needed to click on your own affiliate link and made a purchase from there.

Hope you find this helpful.

The issue here is when you're working on your website, you test a link, and then you forget about this and a few hours after you are making a purchase at Amazon. The cookie is there but you don't realize it.

I can't remember well, but I think I've made my purchase from a different account! And still the purchase was attributed to my associate account. I *know* I can't use my affiliate links for my own purchases, but it still happened to me.

We're not allowed to click our own Amazon affiliate links Sofia, instead, they've given us a tool to use in testing Amazon's links. You will find it under Tools > Link Checker once you've logged into your Associate account.

Sorry, but whether Amazon prohibits me or not to use my own links, I don't think you are entirely correct. Link Checker checks if the link is properly configured for me to receive commissions, but does nothing to know if the link is well implemented on my website.

If I paste it wrongly I won't receive a commission (as the link will give me a Error 404) and there's nothing Link Checker can do to do this sort of test on my website.

So, yes I want to click to check that the link is properly done. Does this sound that unreasonable to do? If this goes against Amazon practices and I want to be by the book I just ask someone to do it.

But I don't think Amazon will ban someone for testing their own links..... They just want to make sure they are covered in all aspects if someone makes fraud (by purchasing stuff over and over with their own links,).

Cheers,
Sofia

Thanks for the answers. I'll contact them to be on the safe side. It's only 80 cents commission. Not worth fussing about, but enough to possibly get me in trouble. :)

Enough to get you kicked out of their program. They seriously look for every reason to remove people. Then sure, they let you back in, but with a new affiliate ID which requires you to swap out literally every link on your site.

Seriously, why work with Amazon??? Worst cookie, worst commission rates, worst publisher relations.

No other retailer has such a large repertoire of items I promote. I did work with one other store (that offers double the commission of amazon) but with very little success.

You mean for games?

Yes

This is against their rules, but the give some leeway because a lot of people forget they're checking affiliate links and a cookie is still active.

I personally emailed Amazon Associates when I did this on accident to cover my bases, and they ended up correcting my commission for that day by removing it. They also suggested using a different browser for shopping if it happens a lot.

Hi - you definitely won't get any commission. If this was just an error, it shouldn't be a problem, but doing this on a regular basis may get you banned from their program.

Hopefully it will pass. I always use cookie cache cleared browser.
