I agree with you. Most people these days have webcams connected to their desktop computers, so this is a really good and convenient way to practice for video creation and transcription of your narrative.
The nice thing is it doesn't have to be perfect, because you can record yourself over and over until you feel comfortable with your results. So yes, having a good microphone along with a webcam hooked up to the computer will help immensely.
I like what you've written here Joe, and I think that you have realized that the writing and content publishing part of Internet marketing is essential to success online. People use the Internet to find content. They are looking for answers, for information, for "How to's", and reviews. If you can deliver information that people are looking for, you will not only attract them to your website, you'll be able to engage.
When someone finds info that is relevant to them, they will engage and read it. Within that content you can recommend that people check out relevant links, some of which will be affiliate links that will generate revenue.
What you are saying about being able to talk for 5 minutes straight is quite true...if you can do that, you can write a great article and achieve a lot of success online :)

If you like to talk, and envision yourself doing what you have suggested here, think about getting a program like Dragon Naturally Speaking. It is a transcription software. At the beginning, you will need to train it (and with your Canadian accent it may take a little more training than an American - the British/Canadian way of saying things can throw the program off at the beginning - ask me how I know ;-)) but once it is trained to your speech it makes it very easy to capture what you are saying. Once you have it down in Word you can then edit it, and then post.
I used it a lot as a newspaper reporter - I would read my notes from meetings I attended, then edit and it was easier to have a story written that way, especially when the meetings were long and I had taken a lot of notes. Hope that helps.
