Another Year Gone By - A Time to Celebrate
Another year gone by and one to be celebrated.
Yesterday was my anniversary of completing 5 years Premium membership at Wealthy Affiliate.
I had not paid attention to the exact day I upgraded to Premium but was alerted to it yesterday afternoon.
It was an extremely short and sharp alert with no bells or whistles. It happened in a split-second when logging onto my Email account.
In a flash, I saw advice of a New Accomplishment Badge Earned. And, then it was gone. Never to been seen again!
I didn't have a chance of reading what the accomplishment was before the message disappeared. It was not a major issue due to the ability WA members have to check accomplishments in our profile.
What Do I Have to Report On the Year Gone By?
To be truthful, I will say that it could have been more productive if I had set my mind to it.
I spent too much time overthinking things rather than trusting various processes, particularly in producing content.
I recall Kyle's training, from earlier years of my membership, reading advice such as not attempting to write perfectly. I know those are not the exact words of Kyle's, but his words were similar.
Images are something I've spent far too much time on achieving the correct size etc. It's been so easy to waste time attempting to reach perfection.
A New Year to Enjoy
Moving forward for the next twelve months I will attempt to put the desire for perfection behind me.
To contribute more to the Wealthy Affiliate community would certainly be a way forward.
The quality of content published by members within Wealthy Affiliate community is definitely something to be recognized. It appears to me that the standard of member participation of published content, including comments and training, extends to a higher level each year. This is a wonderful attribute for all members to benefit from. Whatever the level or experience of a member, it seems we all have questions that can be asked and answered within Wealthy Affiliate.
My Message to New Members
I congratulate new members on their membership and assure you that provided you follow the training by Kyle and Carson, not to forget Jay, you will succeed with building the online business you desire.
Also, take every advantage of learning from the WA community. The dedication of members to support others is of exceptional value and available around the clock. Every hour of 365 days in each year support is available for Wealthy Affiliate premium members.
As much as I didn't achieve all I had planned during the past year, I still see it as a year to celebrate. Being a premium member of Wealthy Affiliate is a joy I would not wish to be without for as long as I continue affiliate marketing.

Achievements are also reminders, so the best part is taking those few seconds of summary every time we achieve something, acknowledge what is and we suddenly know how to move on.
A wise person once said that we'll never finish anything, and the moment we think it's perfect, it isn't anymore. At the same time, as you get better at what you do, you also produce better content, automatically, so just let it flow through your fingers and leave it. You will change it sometime later anyway.
Keep moving, Valerie, and have a lot of fun moving. It's all like a dance, keep rockin', swinging', or do some ballet, whatever you like and smile through your work :-)

Thanks so much for your encouragement. I will remember what you have said. I don't know about ballet, but I'm sure can rock a bit and smile my way through my work, while singing a ditty or two.

Congratulations, Valerie, that is a milestone worth celebrating. So many folks come and leave before achieving their goals and aspirations.

I'm so pleased you agree with my thoughts on perfection. I have seriously allowed the need for perfection to stand in my way. I must and will overcome this problem. I imagine it is a mindset I've developed due to some unknown reason.

Good Morning Valerie,
5 Years is really a milestone. Happy wishes for your 6e WA year. We are the lucky ones to have WA during the crisis. It does help to talk to all the friends spread over the world when you are obliged to stay home. There are more cases again in Spain and from stage 3 we might have to go back to stage 2. Anyhow, having a website is keeping us busy and that is a blessing.
I am still updating all my posts. It is a rather slow process.

I've been thinking about you so it's great to receive your message. Yes, we are very fortunate to have friends around the world, which is another great advantage of Wealthy Affiliate.
I heard on the news, a few nights ago I think, about more Covid-19 cases in Spain. I was sorry to learn of that. New Zealand residents have been very fortunate with the way the virus has been managed here.
All the best to you with updating your posts. I still have a long way to go before the update will be completed. As you say, it is a rather slow process.

Good advice. I recently passed the two-year mark, and don't even remember getting an achievement notice. It dawned on me after the anniversary had gone by.
