Why return to WA?

I first joined Wealthy Affiliate in 2007 and was blown away by what it had to offer. It really was a one stop shop of resources. Of course, at the time it mostly concentrated on Affiliate marketing but it is now much more rounded.
Anyway, as I moved towards product creation, I started looking elsewhere for information, and I hate to say, at various points of my IM career, got seduced by the more shiny objects and 'rock srtar' type marketers out there like Frank Kern, John Reese and so on....
....hmmm, I can even remember thinking "wow, these other marketers REALLY know the big secrets and really know what they are doing. But..
Here's the thing, if had taken the time to go through the initial training program again that you go through when you join WA, I would have seen that all that stuff was already taught right here!! One thing I urge people to do to who have been here at least a few weeks or months, is to go through the training program more than once! You should also take key notes and then take action steps based on those notes.
Well, I don't want to blow smoke up my backside, but I've done ok while away, but one thing I missed was helping others get their business up and running. I did a bit of that at that 'other' IM forum, but that site is getting really full of time wasters, and just doesn't seem to have the community feel that you get at WA, especially now with the live chat feature here which is awesome.
Also, I think when people are prepared to pay a monthly fee (if they can afford it), then by having some skin in the game, you are much more likely to take action, otherwise you are wasting your money!!
I have plans to share some of the things I'v done while I was away, which I feel will complement the training here, and in some cases, help you get to where you are going faster. Sometimes, it takes just thinking and acting differently to everyone else.
One thing I want to stress right now, is the important of building relationships with other marketers and people in general. This is truly the quickest path to success. Nowadays, I start a niche in reverse. Instead of looking at what I can create within a niche, I look for ways I can get whatever I create out to the market in the easiest way, and to the most amount of people.
Listen, when you start doing this, this is NO market too competitive, you just need to learn how to leverage the work others have already done. I will do a guide on this here very soon, but it is very exciting when you truly realise you can get whatever you want if done the right way.
Anyway, good luck to you all and see you around the forum and live chat...and stuff :-)Cheers
Phil

Hi Phil. Welcome back to WA. I agree with the idea of taken time to go through the training again. I actually just did that my self. I joined WA about a month ago and read through the training and then I kind of got lost along the way. Then I decided to start all over again. I had a better understanding and hopefully, will apply the knowledge better than I did before.
I look forward to learning from you and hope you have a great time sharing.
Hey there. It will be good to read it in 6 months also, each time you do so, it will make more sense as you can put things into context. Good luck and speak soon.

We started around the same time in 2007 and I remember way back in 2007-2008 we had many discussions about what we were doing, what was working and what was not. I even remember at the time we shared the current website projects we had going and man! were we so far off what we needed to be doing back then. Good to see you back and doing well.
Hey mate!! Yeah, I remember, it seems ages ago. You taught me how to set up hubpages, they worked pretty well. Like you said though, we were really trying to work out what the hell to do lol I guess we all have to go through that process though. Chat soon. Phil.
