Is It Worth It Nowadays To Go To College?
I am wondering if, in the present-day economy, it is still a good idea to trade four years of your life---and a student loan that will follow you to Death---for a BA or BS? With such a minimal education, you will not find it easy to find a really good job.. Have you noticed how many grads are working at minimum-wage jobs?
IMHO, a person would do a whole lot better to become a Premium member here at WA, follow the teachings of Kyle and Carson, work hard and become financially free. Then later, if one still has a burning desire to go to college, one can study in style!
When you come right down to it, where will you find an opportunity to retrain into the most lucrative industry in the world today---for about a buck a day? Internet marketing is also the one industry in which there are no barriers to scaling your earning power as high as you want it to go, except your own lack of a robust work ethic. Or maybe procrastination.
In this industry, nothing can hold you back---unless you let it! It doesn't matter what gender you are, what race, what country in which you live, your degree of disability, your education, your age, and on and on. At WA, the sky is truly the limit.
And that's a darn good thing, because I'm afraid that we are all going to have to take of ourselves and our loved ones from now on. Pensions are going to be going the way of the Dodo Bird. Without our becoming financially free, it will be a very scary world out there...

Things have changed a lot recently, but education of any kind is never a heavy load to carry. I do see your point though.
College courses can be helpful even here. It's really difficult to get a good job if you don't have a degree. That being said, I do believe that real life (and WA) teach you valuable skills so that you can be you own boss and the sky is the limit. Not everyone has the work at home comittment and spirit though so I guess it all depends.
A paper certificate is not as valuable as it used to be. Just about anybody can get one and a great job now depends on your connections and whether the employer really likes you. WA is teaching us real skills that we can use immediately.
I've been in a job for the last 10 years that only requires a high school diploma. I paid my own way to get my Bachelor's degree. It was tough working full time and going to school.
Well, it's been one year since I've graduated and I'm still working in the same job. Haven't been able to get a job in my field of study and the jobs I'm applying for pay less that what I'm currently earning. It is a disappointment after all that time, effort and money I spent on getting my degree.
So, I'm taking a different route now and following WA until I reach my financial goals. Just thought I'd put in my two cents. Food for thought.
You are absolutely right! WA is the place for you to be and I'm glad you are here. What a horrible disappointment you had after all that incredible work, both in school and at your job. That could take the heart out of anybody. The middle class is disappearing, and soon it will be just the very rich and the very poor in this country, just as it was in Haiti under Papa Doc---Well, really all over the world when the oligarchs manage to grab all the money. That's why we have to work as hard as we can to get our own pile and to help as many other people as possible to get their own piles, too. Which is what Kyle and Carson are doing right now, bless them! Thank you so much for your input....We are on our way to a better way to live!

No college course that I know of can compare to the internet marketing training here in the WA community. The cost is a no brainer in comparison too. ^_~
