The Long Road to Success
So I have been at this for a little while now, happily plugging away at my website as much as I can. It has been a challenge so far, having come from a background of little technical expertise like many members here.
I have a variety of reviews and posts so far, but still so many to go. I imagine even more before I can get some organic traffic, which would be nice for sure. Some affiliate sales to follow would be exactly what I need to keep going. Both in morale, and in finance right?
The Foundation
The most important part for anything to be built upon. Much like the almighty first meal of the day, if you go ahead without a solid foundation, it could lead to poor results.
But all metaphors aside, it's also very time-consuming to get started. I think that is why a lot of people get discouraged in this line of work - because of the sheer amount of work you have to do before there's a payout. For most, that means a lot of learning new things as well, which only makes the process take longer.
Thankfully, I find the training here to be great. I've learned all sorts about website building and affiliate marketing and the like. The community is awesome as well, always ready to jump in and lend a hand. With that kind of support on hand, people only really fail for lack of effort, or so I'm led to believe.
But the key thing to remember from all of this, is patience goes a long way. And a long way you may have to go before you reach your goals.
The Dream
We all have one, it's what gives us that drive to get things done when the well goes dry. The thought of a greater existence, a happier one where you get to live the life you want.
It varies per person, some include kids and a house, some want to travel, and some just need money. There is no judgment here, but rather just a simple question.
What is your dream?
If it's too personal, don't feel like you have to share. I just like to know what drives people to work so hard, to break away from the normal 9-5 job in an effort to thrive online, or even just to have a website that you made yourself. What would encourage that kind of effort?
I'll go first:
I have bounced around to a number of jobs over the years, learning a variety of skills in a few different fields, but never truly satisfied. Sometimes the company was terrible to its employees, or the employees to each other, or the work was just too mundane and the ceiling was low so you knew that promotion that you've always wanted is ages away at best.
I've spent years being overworked, underpaid, and seldom appreciated. Pretty common stuff when you think about it, but that's the point! I've been so tired of usual formula, knowing that a simple lay-off could break the bank at any point and put a family into poverty - whether it is mine or someone else's. Often times, working for a company will never be beneficial enough to let you retire comfortably, or afford vacations along the way. You'll give up holidays, social events, days off, and for what? So you can resume living paycheque to paycheque?
That's rough, but it's reality for most. And for me as well, which is why I'm trying this here with you guys and gals. I want to make some money independently, and decent money too because nothing is cheap anymore.
I want to move back home and buy back the house and land my parents had to sell when I was a child. I'll never be able to afford that, even full -time at any of my previous jobs. I want to give back to the communities that raised me and taught me right from wrong. It's always good to give back when you can. And I want to spread my knowledge with others in hopes that they too can become their own boss someday. We all deserve that chance.
But that's just me, and for the record I'll always accept help. I just don't always know how to ask.. that's my next point.
Ask for Help
We're all going to get stuck along the way. For some it will be more common than others, but that makes it no less important. So if you have a problem, what do you do?
Ask for help, seriously! That's what we're here for!
Just check out the search bar along the top and start typing a question you might have, and chances are that someone probably already asked it in the past and the answers are just waiting for you. If not, just fire one out there and mark it as a community question.
Even the live chat on the side is going full-time, so check in there too.
But I really just want to hit this point home. Don't let you be the thing that's holding you back! It's not any easier for me, as someone that suffers from very regular bouts of anxiety, and that's why I preach things like this. I don't want to see others make the mistakes that I do if I can help it, ya know?
Where does it all lead?
Originally I was writing this post as part of a lesson, and it was supposed to be about what we've accomplished so far. But it's good to think ahead, daydream a little sometimes too. It helps keep us stay reminded of the greater overall goals and not lose sight of what gives us that motivating force.
For me personally, it's more reviews and articles, still hoping for real traffic and someday referral money. Fingers crossed!
But what about yourselves? I want to hear more about the stories of others, so if you feel like sharing, then drop me a comment down below.
Cheers and God Bless,
Tyson

That is a very powerful message that you are sharing. Nice big step to help others. You have some big dreams in giving back and I wish you the best.
Thank you Edward. I'm only as good as the examples I chose to learn from along the way, but credit where credit is due. It would have been a lot harder to be a good person in life if I was surrounded by bad influences, so thank goodness.
Thank you, Tyson,
I have hit a bit of a wall, my self talk saying negative things to me. It is a struggle right now to get through it.
I don't know if it is self-worth, fear of success, not sure, but it is feeling rough, to say the least. I am pushing it now and hoping to
breakthrough quickly.
You are right about this process is long before we see results, but it is like writing a book, it takes weeks, months, and maybe even years to get it done, but when it is done, it brings in a passive income, then you don't have to work as hard.
Thanks for this post, just what I needed today.
Cindy
You're very welcome Cindy. Just keep that chin up and continue turning thoughts into words. Patience is super important, especially in the early stages, but you got this.

I love your message, and I have to say it sounds like we are having some of the same roadblocks. Learning new things while trying to do it at the same time and to stay involved in the WA community. It is a lot.
Peace
Ms. Sharon
