Lessons I learned from Julia Child and her cooking show

I recently watched the TV series "Julia", about the life of Julia Child. This coincided with my WA training. I realized that in some ways Julia Child was example to me on being an affiliate marketer. These are some of the reasons. Julia had a clear well defined niche, French cooking. Although she could have branched off into other fields of cooking she remained loyal this niche throughout her life. The next lesson was that she produced content. In her case it was her cookbook "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" which she published together with two French ladies. The next lesson was that she actively promoted her content, her cookbook, through the best "social media" of the time, TV. She actively promoted the book herself as her publishers had little faith that the book would sell. Julia promoted her book on TV shows until she had a major breakthrough at WGBH in Boston. She was such a big hit with viewers and the station manager's wife that they offered her, her own TV show "The French Chef". The shoe proved so popular that it was syndicated across the US. The three lessons I learned from Julia are: have a niche, produce content and promote the content. Sounds obvious but it took me awhile to grasp this in my lessons.
