Now Do You Believe Me ?

Obviously I'll need to qualify that title. I will, promise, it just might take a while. Let's be honest here, sometimes I paint a picture of my life and you would be forgiven for thinking "Really ?" Look, I read some of my stuff and think the same.

I shall take Taetske's advice and start from the beginning. Once upon a time...

This morning I had a plan, at least I thought I had an idea of how the day was going to pan out, first mistake I hear you say, maybe, but we have to try.

Before any of the other heavy-lidded eyes had blinked into existence, I was well ahead of the game. Dogs walked, wash load on, kitchen cleaned and two EBay items packaged up and ready to send.

Moving into my 'Hour of Power', as Mr. Robbins coined it, I set about doing my exercises. I have had to change my normal, daily workout, as I seemed to have pulled a muscle. Rather than using that as an excuse not to do anything, I do less but more often. So instead of 15 x 'whatever' I now do 8 x 'whatever' and just repeat the whole performance. It works for now, until the injury has healed.

So, I was half-way through when my eye was drawn to a large curtain sided lorry drive by, slowly. You know when you get that 'sinking' feeling ? It's almost like a premonition, even when you have nothing to justify it with. Well, the little lightbulb in my head lit up and guided me down a passageway that had been in darkness for a few weeks.

It showed me to the door of a memory room, that was of a conversation I had had with my nearest and dearest, a few weeks back. The discussion concerned an offer of some free dog food, for the 'dog rescue'.

Last time, our eldest had driven up to collect the donations but this time round, the suppliers were offering to deliver it. I believe, I had said that we would find somewhere to put it, as and when the time comes.

You guessed it, today was the day. Here's what arrived this morning at approximately 9.00am.

All hands on deck, G'ma had made the mistake of arriving early, shame. I'm out of picture, in case you were wondering. I was creating a design feature in our, yet to be, dining room. I call it the 'Twack Stack'

I can say it again, now do you believe me ? Anyway, this present, though not totally unexpected, was a fantastic surprise. Regardless of what is going on in the world, all of our animals still need looking after.

Seeing as the shops look like they're part of a post-apocalyptic, dystopian feature film, dog food has gone the way of all other foodstuffs, into the larders of the 'panic buying' hoards.

We are only just starting to get a glimpse of what the ramifications are going to be. It is now assumed that there will be no more dogs coming over the waters, for the foreseeable future. The heart-breaking side to this, is that the chances of them being given a 'stay of execution' until they can make the journey, would seem to be remote to nonexistent.

That said, for those that have already made the journey, they will at least have food for the next month or so and that makes me happy.

Let's see what tomorrow will bring.

Community. Sound familiar??

Greg

It's the WAy our world works, if only more would take heed.

Absolutely

***Love it --- Tremendous Twack Stacks! ... Like Wow-sa ... lol ....

Super supply ... that's wonderful ... keep well .... :) ***

Thank you Keisha, it should keep them all happy for a while.

That is great... taking care of pets. Twack Shack really rhymes... great name. Blessings to you!

Thank you Stanley, it does have a certain something, doesn't it.

Lucky you! I am concerned about my cat food, as my cat is on a prescription diet food that I can't get from Juneau. I have to order it from Amazon, and wherever I get it, it's quite expensive. I just hope I can keep ordering on Amazon.

I have heard that Amazon are in the process of hiring more staff to keep up with increased demand. So fingers crossed for you.

Apparently cat food is on the list of things they will keep sending. Good for them...someone has to supply us when we can't go to the store and buy stuff. Hope they are successful. I'm sure folks will be looking for jobs about now.

Well done you for getting so much done, sounds like you were on a roll.
That is a good supply Twack, careful folk don't steal it to eat it themselves.
People are very weird in situations like this. Just look at the panic buying. Its still going on despite the non stop lorry loads and staff refilling shelves.
Take care and don't pull anymore muscles.

Yes that’s the scary part what people will do

Thank you Linda. I agree, the panic buying is quite baffling, they're still going at it. If they just stopped and thought about it logically, we'd all be better off.
They'd have to get past the Husky's if they wanted the food, though that probably wouldn't be an issue, as they're pretty useless as guard dogs, they do look the part though.

Husky's are beautiful.
I feel that most of Norwich, apart from me, my daughter and many elderly, must have overflowing cupboards. Where are they putting it all? Quite funny if you think about it. Toilet rolls as furniture, tins as tables, heavy stuff piled on chest freezers to keep the lid down. Goodness me, sitting her laughing at the pictures on my head, lol.
Must stop, won't get any work done.

I was more surprised that the 'perishables' had all gone, as far as I'm aware, not everything freezes.
You have painted quite a vivid picture, almost post worthy.

Made me laugh at the beginning when tins and jars vanished with pasta and rice. I sailed along quite happily getting my veggies, salad stuff and fruit. Then people started cooking and apparently house cleaning, lol.
