Why You Should Never Eat High Fructose Corn Syrup
This is so off topic, please just ignore if you are not interested. I never understood why High Fructose Corn Syrup was so bad - just sugar made from corn right? Wrong! follow the link to a short video if you are interested.

I agree that we need to get rid of not only this sugar product but other additives and preservatives in our food. Eating natural products is the best. Make home made cakes and cookies that use sugar. I also feel the sugar alternatives are bad for you as well. I have cut out sugar drinks from my diet. I drink on glass of half natural OJ and half sparking water to have some fiz in my drink. I drink one and half liters of water a day which is much better for you. Debbie
There are so many replacement for drinks it is really great. Sparkling water and just about any fruit make a great combination and you do not have to worry about added sugar. I think you are on the right path!
gosh did not know that, we do not have corn syrup here, and he is right there is too much sugar in a lot of things, thanks for sharing
Be grateful you do not have this horrible product! Consuming 1/2 pounds of sugar a day without even realizing it? Incredible! No wonder Type 2 diabetes is on the rise!
I had no idea you were so health conscious! Yes I agree it's awful stuff. I am super passionate about health and awareness. I have a side business with the company that makes this whole food supplement. Please ignore if you're not interested, but if you are I can get you some information about how to use it. It has seriously changed my life. www.bodybalanceworks.com
I know several members who have wonderful ideas about whole, natural foods. I am interested in the good stuff for life, not just because the ingredients to packaged food are incredibly bad, but I genuinely care about what I put in my body!
Thanks for sharing! There are sooo many awful ''ingredients'' out there. I've watched a few documentaries about the food industry and like OldCodger said, it's enough to make one sick!
Actually physically sick, even if one is not aware of what they are putting in their mouth. Mud pies start to sound appealing!
Good on you, Tria - spread the awareness! Just reading some food labels is enough to make one sick, knowing what they mean!

You are so right George. It really frustrated me knowing how food labels are allowed to call things by names that keep us in the dark about the true ingredient that is in the food! The contents of the anal glands of otters is used as a substitute for vanilla flavoring - does the FDA really allow this? Apparently so. I read so much more, left me feeling really ill informed!!
Great article Terea! Being a Holistic Health Practitioner this is something that I advocate for everyone! Margarine is another - 1 molecule away from being plastic! The more natural the food, the healthier! Thank you for sharing this today!
G'day, Sharon - many years ago, a biochemist friend of mine explained how margarine was made, and I haven't touched it for 30 years! Still, it keeps getting pushed as a "Healthy Alternative". To grass-fed cow's milk and it's butter? There is so much misinformation out there on what is and isn't healthy - are baddies winning?

I actually knew that! I have not touched the stuff since I found out! I have learned to shop basically in the produce department and eat only foods whose labels I can read and understand. If I cannot pronounce it, it is not going on my plate. I wish I had learned a lot sooner. In my niche, dogs, it is horrifying what is allowed to be used as filler. In reality, it is actually just as bad as it is in "human" food!
I haven't had sugar or any processed food in seven years this coming August. Hardest thing I ever did.
What makes it hard is we are surrounded by it. At home I find it easy, I do not buy or stock anything with HFCS or sugar. I make drinks with water and fruit, I eat from the produce department. Then, when I am out with all my friends, especially church get togethers, it becomes more difficult.
I admire you, 7 years is a long time, and has been wonderful for your body!

I had heard about this before, I don't use corn syrup anymore either.
I'm happy for your health! Pretty nasty stuff we used to put into our bodies!
