Full Time Marketing
Recently I made a bold move one of which just a year ago I never thought of doing. I RETIRED. Now I know most people wait until they are 62 to 65 or some I have knowen working until they are 72 before they decided to do something for themselves. Enjoy life.
Well I'm sorry but I'm not most people, I have always been different than most, and have always done things differently than others do. So why should this be any differnt than anything else I've ever done.
I remember back in the early 90's when I first learned about the internet, and thought back then what a great opportunity it was going to be for a lot of people. I thought for sure this was going to be a game changer for the markets. But I was never smart enough to figure it out by myself. But i kept plugging along and believing there was an answer out there somewhere.
It has been a great pleasure being a part of the Wealthy Affiliate community and learning the things I only dreamed about a few years ago, and now seeing it become a reality is absoultely awesome.
My life has always been somewhat busy, and trying to fit in the time for study was always a challenge, but that is all about to change. And I couldn't be happier.

With you all the way. Did the exact same thing, (I am 54) and it is working out. I call this my new retirement plan, lol
I'm happy for you! We definitely have some things in common, doing things differently from others, for example. Go for it! It sounds as if you have the energy, and are well positioned to take advantage of this opportunity.
I took an early retirement back in 1991 when I saw the potential of the Internet. But there was still good money to be made by using my knowledge of software-related activity to work as a contractor at various places (IBM, Dell, and others). My mistake was in thinking I'd never grow old, not recognizing what huge changes were taking place (including the war on terror, inflation, massive corruption in Washington), and the tech explosion.
Now in my 81st year, I'm "dated", and have not kept up with the rapid changes. Of necessity I work part-time for about $10/hr with a very irregular schedule, and find it difficult to sit down during my off-hours at the computer and catch up, i.e. "where the heck was I when I signed off day before yesterday?". Navigating through WA's huge variety of opportunities, questions, answers, discussions, courses, forums, etc. etc. is sort of driving me nuts. I don't really know where to start, and then how to follow through.
Picking a niche is one big challenge for me. Right now I'm seriously considering starting with a website that caters to people like me, i.e., well up there in years, facing the challenges of advancing age, scared to death of the possible financial disaster we seem to be headed for with the Federal Reserve printing money with nothing behind it but a "promise", and much more.
I hope to somehow make connection with a few competent people in this platform where we can share information, ideas, etc. If we were geographically close enough to occasionally meet face-to-face, it would even be better in my opinion.
Well it sounds like we do have a lot in common. And as for the information that is found here on WA...to say is overwhelming...is an understatement.
I think the boys here at WA (Kyle And Carson) have done a great job on making the site more user friendly, and by including the videos what have available here has greatly increased WA's value to each and every member here.
I think the idea you have about creating a site for people facing the challenges of advancing age is a great idea. I am sure there is a market out there for that. I am sure there are plenty of people just like us, who have made changes, and need help navigating along the way after they make a major life change. Just writing about the changes you made in your life, and sharing the challenges and the decisions you've made (some good some bad) would help many, many people. It could be sort of a forum where people get together and share stories and exchange ideas. I'm sure the ways to approach this would be endless.
Although I have not participated much in the way of sharing what i have learned over the last five years since I joined WA, that is about to change as I will be having more time on my hands to get involved with the community.
However before I do that I am headed on a cross-county trip with my wife and kids in a motorhome. There are some things I want to see before I settle down in front of my computer. I think I may post some pictures of my adventures here with my family on WA.
Thank you so much for your reply. I am looking forward to getting to know you better.
Great to hear!... enjoy life while you can!... For me, creating my own destiny is not work... it is living the dream!
