Hey Loes, you been good to us my dear friend. I'd like to give you a gift if you don't mind. Let me know if you want it. Btw, this is what I think of you! Nothing alarming mind you. If you ask Steve he'll tell you it's not all that bad!

Hint I see a photo of you and that's all I need. =)

Thnx Loes. Question - in Kyle's post, that new privacy policy that we create as a page, do we need to replace the old one with this new one? Or just add it as an updated privacy policy to the website?
I am wondering because the wording of the new privacy policy template refers back to the old one near the end...HELP???!!
Thanks
M

Michelle, where about at the end does this show? I just checked the new template out and couldn't see a specific reference.

I just did a new page and deleted my old policy.

Hey there Helen, I copied and pasted the section here:

""Changes to Our Privacy Policy
We may make changes to our Privacy Policy in the future, however, the most current version of the policy will govern our processing of your personal data and will always be available at the following URL:

{Your Privacy Policy}

If we make a change to this policy that, in our sole discretion, is material, we will notify you by an update or email, where possible. By continuing to access or use our services, you agree to be bound to the terms of our Privacy Policy."

Do you see what I am asking?

Yes but don't worry. When you do this new one it becomes your current copy.

Hoooooolley-moley... another necessary GDPR plugin... LOL!
Thank YOU Loes!

Think many potential commenters will simply leave without leaving a comment, confused. That checkmark box SHOULD appear below the comment box, but it is not showing on my sites which use different themes. :-(

I entered my email address and checkmarked the box, and click the Send button... and waited... and waited... so far, nothing has come in. Tired again, but this time got the following prompt:
"You have already requested your data. Please check your mailbox. After 24 hours you can put in a new request."

Hmmm...

I've contacted the WP GDPR plugin support AND my ThriveTheme support regarding the checkbox not displaying under comments nor the Contact Form 7 form. Sheeeesh... couldn't be easy, huh... LOL, what else is new, huh.

The email STILL has not come in. It musta' gone to Mars!

Many thanks Loes for the training and the step by step guide. It is a great help.
I saw in one of the comments below that if you live in the EU, that you need another eu cookie law plugin, this is the first I heard of this, should I install that plugin also?
Thanks

When you live in the EU, you need a cookie warning plugin

Loes, I must ask you this question again.
Hope you don't get totally fed up with all my questions ;-)

Do you think we have to have both the EU Cookie Law plugin and this WP GDPR Compliance plugin? Or would it be enough with one of them, and if yes which one?

This is really a complex topic!
Reply
Loes Premium
As EU citizen you do need both, for EU the cookie warning is obliged. And now the GDPR too.

If you live outside the EU you can have the GDPR only.
