Back Up Your Database and Files Using the UpdraftPlus Plugin
Prior to updating to the latest WordPress version 5.0, you need to back up your site database and files lest an error occurs. And the best way to go about this is through the UpdraftPlus plugin; the world's most trusted backup plugin.
To start your backup process, install the UpdraftPlus plugin directly from the WordPress directory. Once you've installed, click on the Activate button to start the backup process right away.
Now, launch the UpdraftPlus plugin and choose the "Press here to start" button as shown in the screenshot below.
Then, click the "Next" button below.
