Page Load Speed Tools
As search algorithms evolve, user-experience is turning out to be a crucial signal for ranking. If readers have issues with loading pages on your site, they may click away and never come back. So, when this happens, your bounce rate will increase and that will impact your Google PageRank negatively.
Google has now added site speed to the search algorithm and it forms a basis for ranking pages. Whichever way you look at this, slow site speed will hurt your search rankings.
Statistics
To have a better clue of how great of an influence site speed and page load times can have on your rankings and website traffic, here are some stats for your consumption:
- 40 percent of users will click away from a site that takes more than 3 seconds to load
- 47 percent would believe a site should load in less than 2 seconds
- If site speed reduced by one second, conversions can fall by 7 percent
- According to the emphasis by Amazon, they would lose more than $1 billion in sales if they reduced site speed or page load time by one second.
