You have options if you can't make the IRS set deadline;

  1. You can ask for a filing extension
  2. You can set up a payment agreement if you owe taxes
  3. You can file on time and pay what you can
  4. Do you need to file? Visit IRS and find if you need to file a tax return.
  5. You can ask for help from IRS or a professional certified tax preparer ( I'm not certified, so please don't ask me.)

The dreaded time for sure. I use an online service and seriously, it works well for us. We don't have a lot of tax stuff going on that I can't do myself. For sure if we had some serious medical issues or other items that would send us over the standard deduction I would certainly entertain getting help from a professional. Thanks for sharing this!

I agree with you, Kathy. I subject people do their taxes themselves if someone is only having to use a simple form like The Form

1040EZ, here a link to it
https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040ez.pdf,

and here's are the Instruction to form

Most of the time, but not always anyone using the not so complicated forms is getting a refund that is less than the cost of using a professional service. In this case, I would recommend the taxpayer use all the free help available to them.

hat free help can really find miss deduction and credits that will give you back a bigger refund. I recommend even if you do your own taxes, give them a call and put more eye on finding anything you may have missed.
