New Tax Laws = Refund claiming the (EITC)/(ACTC) will be held until February 15, 2017, before accepted and released by the IRS.
New laws passed by congress went into effect as of January 1, 2017. The new law is call Preventing Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) it designed to help prevent fraud and is expected to delay the refunds for millions of us Americans filing this tax season.
- If you're claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit and Additional Child Tax Credit (EITC or the ACTC) there will be a delay until February 15, 2017. The IRS said they will not release any part of the tax return claiming these deductions. There is no way around this, it for our own protection claims the IRS.
- Your Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) may be expiring this year so you’ll need to check your records and have your 2015 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI); To prevent any unnecessary delays.
- The standard rates for mileage has dropped for businesses, medical and moving.
