After working on your laptop all day, staring at a 13 or 15 inch screen up close; or worse, your mobile phone!… wouldn’t it be nice to watch Jay’s Neill’s training videos or any other movies streaming on your mobile device for that matter- on your HDTV from th comfort of your couch or favorite chair?

Well, you can. Wirelessly! In this video, I show you how.

Here’s what you’ll need:

A mobile device such as a Smart Phone, iPad or Tablet

A recent model Smart TV capable of screen mirroring Or...

A smart device capable of wireless screen mirroring such as the Amazon Fire Stick or the ROKU 2, 3, or 4. The latest ROKU models don't support mirroring, so get an older one. I have the ROKU 3, which I LOVE!

--------------------------------

The first step is to go to settings on your TV or streaming device and

The next thing you need to do is to go into the settings on your mobile device and activate your screen mirroring. Not all devices call it screen mirroring, for example

Older Samsung phones call it Screencasting

You may see it referred to as Miracast or Chromecast

Apple calls it AirPlay

Samsung UK calls it Allshare Cast

My Samsung Galaxy S6 calls it Smart View

If your device has mirroring capabilities, you should see a setting with one of these names or something similar

Once you hit that button, you’ll see a message on your screen like this one that let’s you know it’s connecting. Once connected, you’ll see a mirror image of your mobile device screen.

When you have auto-rotate enabled, you can turn your phone to the horizontal position and see exactly what is on your phone or tablet, mirrored on your large screen!

It’s easy when you know Hal. That’s me. Please leave any comments or questions in the comment section.

I love screen mirroring. Use it all the time looking at stuff from my Samsung Note 3 or my wife's Note 5 onto our Samsung Smart TV.
Glad to see you have impeccable taste in smartphones. Love that puppy in your profile pic. Cavaliers are my wife's favorite breed.

He was a happy accident. I stumbled across him the same way I stumbled upon screen mirroring.

10 years ago, I was walking another dog, Joey (now gone) when I passed a girl in the park taking this little pup for a walk. Turned out she couldn't keep him and I had been contemplating getting another dog to keep Joey company when I was at work. Turned out to be the best thing I ever did. He is a great little guy.

Guess I'll have to stick with the old standby as my TV is dumb and will stay that way.

Yes, unfortunately, it's not for the older television sets. However, for anyone who's been pondering getting a newer smart tv, a Roku, or Amazon Fire Stick, this will help make that decision easier.

It is so convenient to be able to watch WA training videos and other content just like watching any other movie on tv.
