Video Tools to Start Your Own YouTube Channel
Whether you are running on zero budgets, a shoestring budget or a fat budget, there are video tools that you can use for creating what you want.
These are the important tools that you will need to create your videos:
- Camera
- Microphone
- Tripod
- Lighting
- Video Editing Software
1. Camera
The camera is the most important tool for your video creation. You can use cameras that are very inexpensive as well as high tech cameras so long they give you picture quality of at least 1080p.
Quality camcorder or webcams are good options for you since they are designed to simply record videos. Sony HDRCX405 Camcorder ($198) is budget-friendly with good features for 1080p videos at 60fps. You can easily upload the videos to the web or your PC for editing.
A good webcam that you can use for your videos has the benefit of being a low cost and plug-and-play video camera makes streaming easier and can give full HD 1080p videos.
DSLRs are the most preferred among video creators especially the professionals. Although DSLRs are pricey; they are a good investment for building your video production business.
2. Microphone
Your choice of microphone should match the kind of camera used for the video. Though your PC comes with in-built microphones, they are prone to picking up lots of noise from the background and so should be avoided as much as possible. Instead, it is advisable to opt for external microphones for your audio recording.
USB microphones offer ease of use and are very adaptable and versatile for most needs. Most condenser microphones do not need pre-amps but come equipped with built-in headphones and jack for controlling volume.
Shotgun microphones are also a popular choice for the cool features and audio quality that they produce.
Lapel mics allow wireless audio transmission while it is suited to pick up signals from great distances. Lapel mics come in sets that include the transmitter and the receiver.
Also, if you don't know how to edit your videos I would recommend learning how to use a video editing software (like iMovie) prior to starting. At least, these are the tips I've gathered from successful YouTube videos.
