Factors to Consider Before Creating YouTube Videos
At this point, it is worth considering the things that you need to create videos for your audience on YouTube.
Here are some factors that will serve as a quick guide to help you.
1. Choosing a Topic - A quick search on YouTube will reveal to you interesting topics that your target audience will enjoy. You can tailor your topic to match your findings.
2. Choosing a Niche - If you don't already have a niche, you have to make a choice on one that you feel most comfortable with. Look out for niches with little competition and great earning potential.
3. Define Your Audience - Creating a kind of persona will help you understand who your audience is, what they like, how they communicate and respond to messages. This will give you an idea of your target audiences' interests, their buying behavior, and demographics.
4. Create Matching Contents for Your Audience - Use compelling messages and visuals in tones that can appeal to them emotionally. Let your content also add value to them in ways that they can relate with.
5. SEO - Create good quality content for humans and for search engines. You want your content to be found by your target audience anytime there's a search for keywords that relate to your brand.
6. What is the Purpose of your Video? Determine what you intend to achieve with your video. It could be for engagement purposes, creating awareness of your brand or to educate your target audience.
7. The Video Length - Will your video length be less than 5 minutes or over 60 minutes long? Whatever appeals to your target audience should be the deciding factor in video length.
8. Are Scripts Necessary? Some videos do not have the need for scripts while others will not come out professional without the use of scripts.
9. Your Budget - This is a very important factor as this will determine if you will do it yourself, make use of lesser quality equipment or engage professionals to shoot and edit your videos.
Also, if you don't know how to edit your videos I would recommend learning how to use a video editing software (like iMovie) prior to starting. At least, these are the tips I've gathered from successful YouTube videos.
