Adding Post and Pages to your Blog in WordPress

The difference between post and page is while posts are dynamic, pages are static. Pages are such that their position is fixed, post moves as you add more content. As you lay your next post, first consider what you want.

Is it going to be static or dynamic?

To state creating a post, head on to your dashboard and hit the post button. Click on the add new icon shown below.

Immediate you are granted access to where you can start writing your article or post. Here you can input text, insert images, videos or links. Don’t forget your post will need a title; when you are done, you can save draft with the save draft icon and later publish to the internet with the publish button.

Creating a page is very similar, you select page instead of post. You should try and create pages for your website.

Use the Next Page icon as we begin to look at How to add a navigation menu to your website

Great training. Just wondering, what are the benefits of pages?

Pages contrary to posts, are static and contain more general information such as About you, privacy policy etc. Posts will be alive, can change, have comments, will be updated and are all relevant to your niche only.

Thanks for the great reply Georg. If I understood you correctly pages can be for broad overview of a subject whereas posts are subjects specific?

@ccelest just like he said post are dynamic and this is y they carry 4 unique features that pages don't carry

1) They come with date

2) They come with authors name

3) They come with comments

4) They allow social sharing.

This training is good to review what we learned in the beginning. Yesterday, I wrote a post from site content, but I was unable to publish it from there. So I logged in website first, then, write from the back office as you direct here. Then, I was able to publish it.

Yes, a review and a reminder is good. They help us remember what we learnt in time past.
I am glad you found it useful
