Introduction to Quality Website Traffic

Before jumping into the list of quality website traffic resources, let get one thing out of the way. Please don't forget the 80-20 rule (percentages vary, of course). Work on building your website 80% of the time and promote it the other 20%.

Remember, first impressions are huge. There's no joy in being directed to an empty parking lot! :-) Have some solid, engaging, unique and shareable content waiting for your new visitors. Give them a smorgasbord of useful information for whatever niche your new website is about. Have your advertisements ready and test, test and test. Think Outside the Box

Regardless of the venue of your traffic source, track your advertisements. Use a link shortener that will give you click counts and create one for each ad you're testing. This, of course will give you insight on what's working and what isn't. So, if you're paying for the traffic source, you'll know what to drop and what to invest more money into.

Also, after you have discovered a good source of traffic, tweak your advertisement with A/B testing - having two similar ads with unique link shortener URLS going to the same landing page or website and changing up a word, phrase or image.
