Kyle goes over images in the Certification Courses Level 2, Lesson 5, and I highly recommend that if you have not reviewed that training to do so.
Alignment:
One of the most common mistakes made with image placement is to align the picture to the left with the text wrapped around it and pushed to the right (See Image Below). When people read on the internet they want look to the left to start reading, and posting an image there can cause people to be disoriented. We want our sites to be appealing visually and do not want to cause any disorienting effects.
Compare the above image with the one below where it shows the image aligned to the right.
As you can see it is more visually appealing and easier to read when the image is aligned to the right side.
How to Place Image:
So the next step is how to get the image in the correct spot on the right side or if centered. When aligning images to the left it is important that you place your cursor in the correct spot so that it also aligns with the text of the paragraph. As shown in the image below, place the cursor at the start of the paragraph that you want the image to the left of (made the cursor darker for ease to see).
When you want to center an image between two paragraphs you will want to put the cursor after the first paragraph and hit enter so that it adds a line of space between the two paragraphs (see image below).
Lastly, if you have a bullet or numbered list and want to align an image to the right of that just put the cursor at the beginning of the list (see below image).
Following these simple steps will get your images in the right place to make them visually appealing.
I congratulate you a very well done tutorial. I have only one question. Whenever I insert media into my post or page, I always must only use "none" in the display settings link box or my media does not show up on the page. I don't understand what is going on with this linking aspect.
