Last but not least, lets review adding links to your images. The images will naturally default to a link that will take you right to a page showing just the image. Typically you do not want to link to that image unless it is necessary for the reader to see a bigger version of the image.
When adding the image in there is a drop down box in the Attachment Display Settings (see image below). From there you can select to have no link, link to the image, or a custom URL. To add in a link just select the custom URL and then enter it in the box provided.
You can also add the link in to an image already in your content by selecting the image, clicking the little landscape button and then adding the link in there (see below image).
Lastly, there is one other way to add a link in and that is by highlighting the image and clicking on the add link button at the top of the content box, just like you would to add a link to highlighted text (see image below).
There is an added benefit of adding the link in via this last method and that is to enable the link to be opened in a new tab instead of navigating away from the current page (see below image). Just check the box and your readers will get a new window or tab. You can also just highlight any image that has a link in it already, click the "chain" icon and then check the box as well.
I congratulate you a very well done tutorial. I have only one question. Whenever I insert media into my post or page, I always must only use "none" in the display settings link box or my media does not show up on the page. I don't understand what is going on with this linking aspect.
