1. Publish Valuable Articles
Content is king, and you know that. Your content must be valuable to your target audience. When writing articles, it is best to stay within your business niche so your readers will know what they should expect when signing up for your email newsletter.
After you have written your articles, choose where to publish them. You can post your articles on your website if you have one. If not, I recommend the following platforms. You can still canonically post your articles to Medium or LinkedIn.
Medium
You can save time if you have already published your article on WordPress, your blog, or other media. Copy and paste it to your Medium.
Go to Medium and create a new story. Once you have it completed, copy the entire text. As the canonical post, you should include the link to the original published version.
Finally, you can create your LinkedIn article. Copy and paste your entire article from WordPress or Medium to LinkedIn. You can then post your document.
WordPress
WordPress will allow you to start a blog and publish content for free. Although, if you are going to put affiliate links in as a business you would be better hosting at Wealthy Affiliate.
You should make sure your blog is SEO-friendly.
- Use correct URL formats (only use the keyword in your URL).
- Use H1, H2, and H3
- When possible, use alt descriptions for images.
- Add Meta titles and Meta descriptions
That way you are driving traffic to your website as well as sending social signals to Google. Bonus!
Note to self - do more of that! (I changed the use of my LinkedIn profile but it would still work to showcase my writing I guess - though I have the wrong audience these days lol.)
