The first thing I will say at this point is, I know that you can earn cash credits through site comments – it doesn’t mean we should rush through adding just any comments thinking it will work…
The website owner has the final say on whether the comments are approved or not. Too many disapproved comments will lead to you not being able to add comments for a while. This is about adding value and not making money.
So, what can you do to ensure you get approved?
There are a few things that I have experienced and chosen to disapprove the comments and thought that would be a great starting point.
Just repeating what is in the article…
They have just literally agreed with the premise I was going with, but just repeating it. They didn't expand on the topic or add any real value.
Straying off topic - keep it relevant
I’ll give you an example. I wrote a post about “how to update a Wordpress Plugin”. That was the subject matter. Yet, the commenter wrote about how great the training at WA was and how they were looking forward to moving onto YouTube training…
How might an organic visitor to my post read that? It wasn't relevant to my post at all. A better option would have been talking about how they learned so much about WordPress from WA, might have been a better tack. But I personally saw this as they didn't read my article and just assumed it was promoting WA.
Wealthy Affiliate is a great training platform, but we need to help people find it and not oversell it. We all know helping is much better than selling.
I digress, but you see the point – all of the WA training talks about relevance. Comments need to be relevant.
It needs to make sense
Read your comments a couple of times before clicking submit. It needs to make sense to both the website owner and an organic reader coming to the website and seeing your comment.
Spelling and Grammar
I appreciate that English is not everyone's first language, and spelling can be easily rectified when you choose to approve it - But my point is more about it looking rushed.
There are no breaks in the comments. We are all taught about small paragraphs are better for people to read and keep up with a post. But we literally write our comments all in one sentence.
It all comes back to "Am I offering high-quality relevant comments allowing the website owner to expand on their post". That is the key to getting approved every-time.
I've been involved in several discussions recently about Site Comments. It's obvious that some members haven't read the guidelines and do many of the things you point out they shouldn't!
It's frustrating for the site owner as no one wants to disapprove a comment, and also for the commenter who gets rejected.
Maybe there should be a quiz you have to take before you're allowed to comment :-)
Let's hope those who need to read this do :-)
