OK. Now let's see ...
The editor menu
The menu bar at the top has 11 standard menu items:
1. back
The "back" button will take you back to either the edit all posts or pages page depending on which you are currently editing.
2. add block
The "add block" option is where you will find the Gutenberg’s Blocks and embeds. You can use the search bar or you can scroll through the options available on the screen.
3. undo
The good old "undo" button to undo the last action you made
4. redo
And the life-saver "redo" button to redo your last undo
5. content structure
The content structure option basically gives you a quick overview of the content in your
post/page, including the word count, the number of headings, paragraphs and the number
of blocks.
Also, you'll be able to see a so-called document outline, which is handy for seeing the way your post/page is structured.
6. block navigation
A handy button that will allow you to quickly and easily navigate between the existing blocks already inserted in your post/page.
7. save draft
A useful link that allows you to save the current version of your draft.
8. preview
It's very straightforward I guess. The "preview" button will show you what your post/ page will look like on the front end.
9. publish
Another button that doesn't need too many explanations. However ... hitting the "publish" button will make your post/page available to the public.
10. settings
It's a toggle wheel used to display/hide the right-side settings menu.
OFF
ON
11. more tools & options
Clicking those three vertical dots, will allow you to display a new "More Tools & Options" menu:
11.1 unified toolbar = allows you to access all block and document tools in a single place
11.2 spotlight mode = allows you to focus on one block at a time
11.3 fullscreen mode = allows you to remove unnecessary menu items
You can also switch between the Visual Editor and Code Editor from the Editor section.
Additionally, in the tools section, you can manage all your reusable blocks, you can configure your keyboard shortcuts and you can copy all your content.
Should I continue to use SiteContent or just go straight to Gutenberg for my blogging?
