Add Images to Your Listing

Humans are made with visual desires and gorgeous pictures can help make a complete positive image of your business. Add a brand logo; an image of your business premises (if feasible) and other images which you feel will help in proficiently promoting your business.

Make sure they’re appealing, professional and kept updated. Come up with whatever will help drive potential customers to a purchasing decision.

Ensure you go along with Google’s best practices in the area of preparing a medium to receive data. The official recommendations are below:

  • Size: from 10KB to 5MB
  • Format: PNG or JPG
  • Quality: The image should be illuminated and in focus, and have no unrestrained use of filters or significant mutations. Simply put, the photo should be real.

You’ll constantly see the notification in your Dashboard that Google reminds you about images: “Businesses with up to date photos potentially get more clicks to their sites.” It couldn’t be made much clearer than this – If Google tells you to do it, make sure do exactly.

With effect from January 2018, videos can now be added to a business listing. This is something businesses haven’t leveraged so far, yet everybody knows how resonating video content is. When you add a video, it will show up around your photo section. Simply ensure you follow Google’s video regulations and guidelines.

Thanks Israel,
I have a local website and implemented this today. It was quite useful. There is a whole new section called "website" which gives users a free ".business.site" website. I will see how useful this is in the SERP's.
I was helping a friend do the same, she has a .com website in this niche and we both setup a ".business.site" to link to our back office online stores, hopefully we can get both of hers on page 1 of Google

Hey Claudio, thanks for leaving a thought! Yes, once you can make your information relevant enough (Local SEO) to satisfy user's intent, you're going to have your business presented first in search results or featured in snippets for users who need the information. Thanks for reading!

Thanks for dropping by, Joseph! Glad you found the training helpful and useful! You can search as explained in the tutorial if an existing Google My Business (GMB) account has been created for you before. Once you've confirmed, verify the business name if that hasn't been done yet for you.

Hey Helen, kudos to you for taking the time to read this training piece! I think you'd do well by having a change of internet connectivity and try again to stop being eluded by the bots. Thanks for contributing!
