Build Your Content

At this point, you have your problem, your product, and your basic structure. It's time to finish the steps. Going back to:

  • Research and select keywords.
  • Plan your posts.
  • Research to bring strong, helpful content to your readers.
  • Write your posts. Remember to include a post that is a detailed review of your product(s) you are featuring.

Need help with how to write? My training on writing using an outline might help.

Note: The product review might be your cornerstone content (the pillar) but it doesn't have to be. You might select one of your other posts. In fact, often the review is not the cornerstone. That choice is up to you.

However, it is essential that the review be well done and that it gives enough detail for the reader to form an opinion. Additionally, the other posts need to be well-written and should agree in tone and opinion with your review.

Don't confuse your reader by highlighting how great one product in an informative post, then link to your reviewed product as the one you prefer. (Yes, I have seen this done!)

Internal Linking

When you have at least one informative post and your review post done, remember to link them internally to each other when you post them. Then, as you add more posts in this same theme, go back and link between each of them.

Wow, this is some good stuff here, Diane. I haven't added any products to my site yet so this is right on time. Thanks

Diane, thanks for this training. A helpful guide to prepare a product focused writing method. I saved this. Everyone needs to do the planning in steps. Awesome training. My structure is almost similar to yours. I also follow Nathaniell's training. He provided great class for product focused writing template.

Yes, I usually have to watch replays of most trainings, his and others. It's a time factor. But I'm thankful we have that option!
