What you need to realize, is that starting out, you aren't going to have people flock to your site. You aren't going to be ranked high in Google, and unless you are constantly posting your links everywhere, odds are, someone isn't going to just "happen" upon your site.
You have to make search engines trust your site, by being sure to consistently post content, post links in Facebook groups and forums, read through comments and post your link to help solve someone's problem.
There are bad people on the internet. Viewers want to feel that they can trust the person they are taking advice from. They want to be sure that they are on a site that is run by a REAL person.
Make your content regularly, and be sure to make consistent action with e-mail marketing especially. If someone subscribes to your website, really take advantage and give them something they want, in turn for the right to send them e-mails.
If someone sees your name or website pop up in their e-mails once a week, they get much more comfortable with the way you write, what your website is about, what products you have to offer, and they get links to your website that they can easily access while checking their e-mail.
E-mail marketing is one of the best things to happen to the marketing world in the past 25 years. You should definitely take advantage of it!
