What is My-Linker
My-Linker is a link cloaking tool. What this means is My-Linker shows your links as a My-Linker url and not your true affiliate link.
Here's an example:
This is my cloaked My-Linker link I use on my WA Space profile:
http://www.my-linker.com/hop/new_niche_product
And here is the true affiliate link:
http://robbied99.profitlan.hop.clickbank.net
Why do I need to cloak (or hide) my affiliate link? I need to do this for a number of reasons.
Clean Looking Links
It just looks better for selling (or pre-selling) to potential customers. Some customers are wise enough to spot an affiliate link and move along. I bet you have - where you see a link like this:
http://zzzzz.profitlan.hop.clickbank.net
And you won't click through on it. It's psychological. Customers are becoming wise to affiliate links. So cloaking your links will help you with the sales process.
Affiliate Link Hijacking
Some affiliates or webmasters are not honest - and they swap your affiliate ID value for their own. I've seen this in some forums, where the forum owner will swap your Clickbank ID for their own. This is called 'hijacking' and isn't good. So cloaking your affiliate link with My-Linker is just good business practice.
If you hear anyone on the forums asking for a link cloaking tool, recommend My-Linker to them.
Click Tracking
Another important reason to use My-Linker is that it tracks the clicks on your urls. So if you make a My-Linker link and put it in your article, you can log into My-Linker here at WA and view your click stats. This is very handy to show which article sites or forums are sending you traffic, and which links are sending the traffic. I'll cover this in more detail later.
Best of all, My-Linker is free with your WA membership, so make good use of it!
