Moz Toolbar - Page Authority, Domain Authority, MozRank, MozTrust
What is Page Authority?
Okay, well, as you likely guessed it.... the Moz ranking system for PA (Page Authority) is based on a 100 point scaling system using an algorithm that Moz created to judge or predict the ability of a specific site to rank well down the road. This is built using all of the Moz ranking factors such as backlinks, trust and several others they don't really disclose.
What is Domain Authority?
As opposed to a single page's predicted strength down the road, Domain Authority looks at the domain as a whole. All your pages and content.
What is Moz Rank?
Moz Rank is presented on a 0 to 10 scaling system. It basically reflects the link popularity of a webpage and how strong the inbound links are that connect to that page.
What is Moz Trust ?
Well, as you can imagine, in addition to Moz Rank, there is a certain amount of trust given to inbound links to a webpage. Trust is derived by the trust of those inbound links. Some high quality inbound link examples are .gov or .edu websites. These are highly sought after by SEO experts as we realize the weight given by such websites. Moz Trust is also presented with the 0 to 10 scale.
Moz Trust also calculates the "distance" from the main trusted site to your website via how many links away your website is.
Getting a link from Harvard.edu is likely not going to happen. You have to be faculty or a student and then it's still governed strictly. But, perhaps there is a website about Harvard that has a link from harvard.edu and you can get a post on the website in the middle. So, harvard.edu links to this intermediate website and then to you. You are basically two hops away from the trusted "seed" site.
Now, you may remember from the previous screen of this tutorial that Moz Trust wasn't one of the immediately available options. Well, let me show you how to get there from here!
