How to Create High-Quality Long-Form Content
Creating a long read requires more time and effort than writing short articles, but it is not as difficult as you might think.
The first approach is to simply combine several blog posts. For example, you have several old posts on a topic that are already partially outdated but still contain useful information. Take from them all the best and combine them in one combined article with links to old posts. This will not only save time for writing but will also draw attention to already forgotten materials.
The second option is to hire someone to write long reads.
Regardless of what you choose, you should focus on four stages:
1. Set a Specific Goal
Why do you need a long read? Trying to reach more potential customers? Sell a more specific product? Increase brand awareness? Will your article help achieve this goal? Think carefully before you start writing.
2. Select a Topic
The next step is to choose a topic that is interesting to your audience and deep enough that it makes sense to write a text on it up to a length of 1,200-4,000 words. Ideas can be found on the sites of your competitors, as well as studying analytics and researching search queries.
3. Make a Plan
Writing with a plan is much easier. Divide the article into sections and treat each as a separate short post. If you are compiling several of your old posts, you can just assign a section for each post.
4. Pay Attention to Visual Appeal
If you want people to read your long read, you need to make it as simple and enjoyable as possible. The best way to achieve this is to focus on the visual component. Large chunks of text are cumbersome and scare away many. In the end, even in textbooks, the text is diluted with illustrations, diagrams, portraits.
