How Do These 3 Customer Types Apply to Landing Pages?
Let us say for example that you are selling online courses about exercising. The main thing you decide to focus on is alleviating back pain through a combination of Yoga and Pilates.
You would definitely speak differently to each of these specific customer types. Even the headline would be different. Some examples might be as follows:
For The Enlightened, you could use a headline like the following:
Introducing Amazingly Combination of Yoga and Pilates Exercises to Help Alleviate Back Pain
When speaking to The Enlightened, they know that exercise can alleviate back pain. Their issue is that they don’t know what specific type of exercise works best. Thus, leading with which style of exercises helps this customer type.
For The Troubled, you could use a headline like the following:
The Simple Exercise Routine Helps to Alleviate Backpain
When speaking to The Troubled, they already know they have back pain and they are ready to get rid of it. They just don’t know what exercises would help them best. Instead of scaring this customer type away with fancy names like “Yoga” and “Pilates”, you can simply stick with the basics by offering a “simple exercise routine”.
For The Unaware, you could use a headline like the following:
It’s been Said That Back Pain is Something You Deal with... ...but, Wait Until You Hear How I Got Rid of Nagging Aches for Good
When speaking to The Unaware, you need to understand that they have back pain but they never even thought about being able to get rid of it. So, you can simply address that issue in your headline, and use a “shocking” type of story.
This is a great way to have your visitors saying something like this: ”I read your sales page and it really seemed like you were talking directly to me!”
That’s how they buy your product or service with no questions asked. Lesson #2 next...
Thanks for the training. As always, straightforward and easy to understand.
Appreciate your input,
Jane
Kind Regards,
Nurse Becca
The Troubled have a serious problem like a sick pet that they want to help but have no idea how or a cat peeing around the house and they are desperate to fix the problem. I have post titles that address both of these groups but I never thought of breaking the groups down as specifically as you have here. Thanks!
I also agree that landing pages that ask questions can be a huge turn off. I would click away if a page started asking me questions. I want to look for information, not be quizzed. Speaking directly to a person is a much better approach.
