1. Rank Your Content in Google Snippet

When someone types in a search query for instance, “How to start a flour-making business?” you’ll find a feature/box on top of the search result page that includes a guide from a web page for starting a flour-making business. This Featured Snippet is occasionally displayed in search results by Google, especially when a searched keyword is related to a question.

The snippet section of the search result page is an insanely crucial place to have your content positioned in. Once you can have your content ranked within the Featured Snippet, possibilities are the click-through rate ranking average that drives in a searcher to your site can boost by 100% and above.

Now, let’s talk about the important signals that seriously get your web page ranked on the Google Featured Snippet:

  • Google always prefers to have the serialized paragraphs added to the Featured Snippet to choosing the large blocks of paragraphs, which makes it necessary that you always try to have the “Lists” or “How to” keyword phrases positioned at the very beginning of your content which are the most commonly-searched queries
  • The strategic/targeted keyword phrases should be included in the HTML headers
  • Google always prefers to choose the content which almost begins with answers to the query straight away. For instance, begin your content directly with “The maiden step is”, and so on.

I can understand about updating old content regularly but what do you mean by republishing it? Do you mean making new blogs out of it? Thank you!

Thanks for leaving a thought, Feochadan! Much grateful! Yes, republishing old content means replacing the older publishing date with the current, therefore making it start appearing again at the top of your feed. And you can have the settings customized in your WordPress back office. Thanks for reading this training piece!

Easy to change the publishing date Darlene.

Have your post in Edit Mode in Wordpress and over on the right you will see - Published On

Click on Edit to the right of it and simply change the date (see pic)

Hi Israel. How do you get a republished current date in it though? I've tried updating old content but it keeps the original older published date. Am I missing something?
