One most frequent question I’ve always been asked by folks is: “What type of content is best for SEO?” You’ll, of course, agree that as far as ranking is concerned, nothing is more important than creating high-quality and engaging content. It’s content that has made the internet a place worthy of visiting today, and without content, it would have been a completely empty space.
The phrase, “Content is King” isn’t a new term anymore on the internet. This was (possibly first) mentioned by Bill Gates, a well-known billionaire, far back in 1996, when he published an essay titled, “Content is King” on the Microsoft site. There in his write-up, he visualized the internet as a content marketplace and described it as such.
Now, there are approximately 2 billion websites/blogs on the internet, while social networking sites and roughly 10 billion mobile devices are booming seriously with approximately 4 billion internet users from all walks of life. But the major reason for all of it is Content. And the same goes with SEO which is nothing without content.
To make your site rank well in SERPs, you must consistently update your blog with content-rich posts, realizing the simple fact that not all the content types work the same way. Of course, some content can help when it comes to building engagement with the audience, some may be ideal for nurturing leads, while some may be used for entertainment. The question is: “What is the most ideal content type for SEO?”
Note that it’s not all types of content that work well for SEO. And if you really want to hit SERPs so deeply, you would need to create the type of content that works great for that specific purpose. This tends to make more sense when you realize the fact that more than 90% of the content that people publish on the web gets zero traffic from Google Search.
Thus, let’s start exploring the content type that really works great for SEO.
- Create how-to posts
- Create video resources online
- Create list posts (Listicles)
- Create visuals
- Create ultimate guides
