Best image Optimization techniques

1. Use Unique Images :

Images speak a lot about your website. The starting point is your image source. Where do you get your images? Your content will be unique if you can use original images.

Check most websites in a particular niche, you will see a range of pictures flying around.

You can stand out from the crowd. One good way to achieve this s using unique pictures.

Apart from not being unique, another risk you will be guiding against with unique images is copyright conflicts. You will avoid legal issues if you take them with your camera or buy them. So when and where possible, take shots of images or pay a token for them.

    2. Image File Names

After you have taken that beautiful image, you must give it a name. When it comes to naming images for user experience and SEO, you must put your keyword in mind. The image filename is a good way to get a search engine's attention to your image.

Images by default are auto-saved with numbers and several characters. It makes no sense to Google. Such naming is as good as that image does not exist. After the image as saved on your hard drive with such a name, change the default name to help your search engine optimization.

      3. Use Appropriate SEO Alt Text

When your browser cannot deliver your image pics, an alternative is the alt text. Your alt attribute should be a description of your images. They should be 100% relevant to them. They are a part of your on-page SEO. As such, spend some time crafting them out.

They will contribute to the overall SEO and affect your ranking for keywords on search engines.

Worth mentioning is their relevance to people with sight challenges who cannot view images. Appropriate alt text alerts users and gives them adequate information about what is in the image.

        Hi Paramater, three questions.
        1. Gimp is that program available for MacBook Pro?
        2. What is the ideal size for Images?
        3. Kraken comes with WordPress does that do the same job?

Thank you for an interesting tutorial

        Thank you Yvonne,

I don't use Mac, but you will find this useful. https://lifehacker.com/gimp-is-now-available-as-a-native-app-for-mac-os-x-5938890

For image ideal size, what is important is to ensure you don't compress at the expense of quality. Don't compress and make the image worthless to users.

Kraken is a wordpress theme and not a plugin.

I hope I answered your questions rightly

It's funny that you've created this blog today. I was downloading an image from http://Canva.com. The choice I had was a PNG format and a compress image. I know that the PNG format was the common one and most used.
But I was not sure about the compress image. You've explained it well and it makes sense to utilize it when it comes to reduce the resource it uses. I will consider this from now on. Thanks. All the best!
