Benefits of Image Optimization
When it comes to web content and storage space, images and videos occupy volume. Images are used more than videos. Top of it, image optimization is one of the easiest and fun-filled things to achieve, but some website owners are not aware of this. Let us begin to see the advantages below.
- Good Load speed: Like I right identified above, if you want a good page load speed, then you must do image optimization. Image optimization will improve your page load speed. Page load speed is one of those things that will determine how long your visitors will stay on your website. A website that loads slowly is not user friendly. They will opt-out for websites that loads faster.
- It will impact your website ranking. That is, it will improve your search engine optimization (SEO). Worth mentioning is the impact your image size plays when it comes to Google Image search. If your images are not too heavy, you stand a chance of getting Google to crawl and index those images faster. In the end, you will discover that image optimization affects the overall performance of your search engine ranking.
- Less disk space used: We have concentrated on its impact on the world wide web. What of its effect on your local system? Storing smaller images means reducing resources used up by images on your local system.
- Creating back-ups for your daily, weekly or monthly dack-up will be faster and easier to achieve

Hi Paramater, three questions.
1. Gimp is that program available for MacBook Pro?
2. What is the ideal size for Images?
3. Kraken comes with WordPress does that do the same job?
Thank you for an interesting tutorial

It's funny that you've created this blog today. I was downloading an image from http://Canva.com. The choice I had was a PNG format and a compress image. I know that the PNG format was the common one and most used.
But I was not sure about the compress image. You've explained it well and it makes sense to utilize it when it comes to reduce the resource it uses. I will consider this from now on. Thanks. All the best!
