T-Bear's Recommended WP Plugins for Image Optimization
There are words that means different numbers. We all know that Mono or Solo mean one while words like Bi and both mean two, then of course we have "Tri", "Quad" and so on. We even see words that identify numbers of years, dacade, Score, century, millennium and so on.
I am proud to announce that I have finally found the exact word that identifies the exact number of available WordPress Plugins. Actually it is a compound word. What's the word? A Sh**load.
Yes, there are a lot of SEO plugins in the WordPress plugins directory and the collection includes some really amazing plugins to help you better optimize all of your images as well. I want to show you a few of the best Image Optimization plugins.
1. SEO Friendly Images WordPress Plugin
This is by far the best plugin for optimizing your images for search engines. You just have to download the SEO Friendly Images Plugin and install it on your site. Then set it up by choosing the options and the plugin will add the title and ALT text wherever they are missing. I love this plugin. Tooooo Cool.
Note:I still suggest that you get in the habit of adding the ALT texts and Title tags to the images manually as soon as you upload them into your Media Library, ( are you reading this for real? Comment, "Teddy Bears Rock in the comment section at the bottom if you are actually reading this),. The reason for this is SEO Friendly Images plugin might not add the perfect ALT texts to your images because it works on the options you selected in the settings area.2. WP Smush. It or EWWW Image Optimizer
2. WP Smush WordPress Plugin
I like WP Smush (this is by WPMU, don't let them sucker you into buying the $47.00 a month Developer stuff unless you have at least 48 hours a day to do both WA and WPMU, just get the plugin) and EWWW Image Optimizer . These both do more or less, the same things, so you can use either of them on your site, but not both. They will conflict together. I'm not certain if it is grammatically correct to add a "DUH???" here
There are no complicated settings, just run the optimizer and all the images will be optimized. These plugins optimize the images by reducing their size without compromising the quality of the image.
Please also visit this article published by WPBeginner that shows you how you can use WP Smush plugin to optimize the image and also other alternative plugins like EWWW Image Optimizer in action. I don't like EWWW. Just a subconscious thing. The name reminds reminds me of green snot running down the dirty cold face of a sniffling child. There is also a store not far from where I live called, "Plumbers and Mechanical Supplies," they have their initials. " PMS'" on the storefront window of the mercantile. I don't go in there because I am afraid I will be mistreated.
Thank you for taking this course.
