Visitor come to you, and want to find you in your articles, with your opinion. So, it's important to share a bit of yourself. A little personal story or anekdote is priceless. You can write about situations and readers can identify themselves with it. If you have a story or experience of your own, try to fit it in.

Really good points on writing a blog your visitors will actually read. When I'm on a website with a whole page of writing & nothing else, I don't stay long. The same goes for websites with several spelling & grammar errors or lots of advertisements. I agree with you about music on a website. Let your reader choose if they want to listen to it.
